With this latest "accompaniment" stunt, Sartain may get a red hat from Francis.

He couldn’t even get his suicide note right. 100 Seconals is hardly “natural”. What an idiot. Sick idiot. A child molester. Spit on the Bible being gay. Spit on the marriage sacrament. So much looooove for his pervert partner to kill yourself on the wedding day. Thou shalt not kill just went out the window. It used to be that suicides couldn’t be buried on sacred grounds such as a church cemetery.

I hate to see a man shriveled-up by cancer like that even if he is living a life contrary to church and Biblical morality, but I cannot condone the actions of the bishop or the diocese in giving such a send-off to an open and unrepentant sinner. Pray for him, yes, but do not celebrate him as some sort of role model.

And his "partner" looks about 40 years younger than him - what's that all about?

This event was celebrated in the local media, and gives scandal to the few remaining faithful. An apostate Catholic myself, I have been giving thought to returning to the Church in my later years, but stuff like this makes me think that the Church is totally lost, and I'll be looking elsewhere.

Does anyone ever get “fired” within the Catholic Church?

Ho hum, homos dying of throat cancer, menopausal ladies giving blessings, woke children, lame bishops, lying spokesmen... just an ordinary day in the Church.

Why not spice up this funeral with some whirling dervishes and amazonian sacrifices? Move things forward! Hagan lio!

There is such a thing as a memorial service which would cover the “pastoral” response for those who are in mourning. But a full Mass of Christian burial for a person living and then dying in mortal sin with no sign of repentance is pure scandal and a bow to evil.

Sartain as a bishop is a joke. If the church had a real pope there is no way in hell this priest would pull the queer crap in a Catholic Catholic Church, but with Bergoglio in charge homo James Martin might as well be the pope.

I guess no worse than extending a full Church burial to abortion champion Teddy Kennedy. Between stuff like tbis, the bizarre rantings of Pope Francis and the continuing sex abuse scandal in the Church, I’m surprised anyone still identifies as being Catholic.

One of the reasons I am no longer a Catholic. This makes me angry. But I am no longer a Catholic so I have no say.

Gasp! A Catholic bishop thought it was OK to ask for mercy and forgiveness of a sinner who many Catholics deem unsuitable for heaven and they think they should determine who should and shouldn’t be prayed for and save God the trouble of making such decisions (and the real irony is they fail to see this huge load of hubris)....that’s OUTRAGEOUS!
Maybe Y’all should read the Bible more often - that sort of thinking is what got Jonah his special conveyance.....
