He is consistent with his beliefs and my I have thought the same about people being feigning such outrage. Is it they protesteth too much? Either in the pit of their stomach they get that awful feeling that this may just be true or as I think moreso they get the sense that their behaviour is being judged by others and they rise in hate toward anyone who would judge their behaviour. Being your own God is a heck of a burden!

Some of these people might be in the early stages of a process in which God has begun to whisper to them “things will be fine.” Somehow Christendom isn’t the Worst Boogie Man after all. They’re there to express their care in terms that they understand, and that’s better than no care at all.
One problem known to Christendom is that of people going to eternal hell, but a less discussed problem (because it involves much more nuance) is that of eternal hell knocking on the earthly door of people who haven’t yet been damned. Maybe it’s because talk about eternal hell looks so glamorous, and talk about slogging it out through a siege of Satan is far less glamorous.
