Somehow, I think/believe that an infinite, benevolent God would had made some provision for the souls of people who died before Jesus’s time, or who never heard of Him. I don’t know what it is, or how it works, but in Charity, I suspect He has some way to hold out Hope of salvation to all those others.

Read Luke 18:13 & 14 and Hebrews Chapter 11. Maybe that will help. Prayerfully ask God to reveal Himself to you in His word.

I heard it explained that God will judge each (gentile, jew, infant etc) fairly but by slightly different standards due to if they ever heard of Jesus in any way or not. God desires none to be lost, except those who choose to be. His whole point in creating man (humans) was for relationship with HIM.

Believers in the Old Testament looked forward to the time when God would redeem them through a Savior. They didn't have all the revelation at that time but only bits and pieces to know there would be a judgment after this life and that they would join God in heaven based upon His work.
Psa 23:1 A Psalm of David. The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
Psa 23:2 He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters.
Psa 23:3 He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
Psa 23:4 Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
Psa 23:5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.
Psa 23:6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the LORD forever.
Believers today, while we don't have all the revelation of the second coming or heaven, know more than our OT brethren for we can see the finish work of Christ who died for our sins and was raised for our justification (Rom 4:5).
