I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work. As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world. ( John 9:4-5)

Over and over again we are told in scripture that a night is coming to the world. It will be a time of the eclipse of truths that were introduced into this world by the Judeo/Christian revelation, which led to the greatest civilization ever seen.

We in the modern world have taken so much for granted, which has come from the Old and New Testaments and their impact on our societies. Concepts like human rights, defense of the weak against the strong, protection of women and children, the sanctity of life itself, all spring from the spiritual light diffused through Moses and then through Jesus and the gospel.

Dennis Prager makes this point in discussing what he calls the original sexual Revolution,

When Judaism demanded that all sexual activity be channeled into marriage, it changed the world. The Torah’s prohibition of non-marital sex quite simply made the creation of Western civilization possible. Societies that did not place boundaries around sexuality were stymied in their development. The subsequent dominance of the Western world can largely be attributed to the sexual revolution initiated by Judaism and later carried forward by Christianity.

This revolution consisted of forcing the sexual genie into the marital bottle. It ensured that sex no longer dominated society, heightened male-female love and sexuality (and thereby almost alone created the possibility of love and eroticism within marriage), and began the arduous task of elevating the status of women.

It is probably impossible for us, who live thousands of years after Judaism began this process, to perceive the extent to which undisciplined sex can dominate man’s life and the life of society. Throughout the ancient world, and up to the recent past in many parts of the world, sexuality infused virtually all of society. (Judaism’s Sexual Revolution)

All of those gains are currently giving way to a wave of sexual anarchy such as we have never seen before. We have no way to calculate the profound confusion brought upon our young generation, which is being propagandized in schools and popular entertainment to accept such abominations as transgenderism, gay marriage and pedophilia. Darkness is descending upon us in a thousand ways.

Light is being eclipsed. The Light of the gospel is being dimmed by a combination of false preachers, bad doctrine, the infiltration of churches and seminaries with apostates and infidels, as well as external pressures coming to bear on the church, hemming it in, silencing it, and even persecuting it in a good many questions.

We do not realize many of the blessings we once had, by virtue of the fact that they were negative blessings. By that I mean we once lived in lands where there was no such thing as female genital mutilation, polygamy, child marriage, honor killing, child trafficking, Ancient rivalries such as the Sunni Shia feud, Juhad, no go areas, Rape as a religious policy,(Rotherham).

Those were brighter days, indeed. We have never lived in a perfect world, but we had no idea that such things as the above existed, and thus our world was much brighter for the lack of such things. Or I shoaled say, it is much much darker since those things have poured into our once judo Christian lands, due to our ‘leaders’.

The darkness is intensifying to the point that most of us have to admit, that our own children would never recognize the world that once was, and in fact are propagandized to think that everything of the past was dark, grimy, racist and unloving, compared to the shiny new world our cultural elites, “the Kings of the earth and their rulers” have constructed on the ruins of the old world they destroyed.

Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing? The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the Lord, and against his anointed, saying Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us. (Psalm 2:1-3)

The Bible tells us that it is these “Kings of the earth and their Rulers”, who have conspired against the LORD and his Christ, who are responsible for the darkening of the world. They have taken their counsel directly against the Lord and His Christ, and are leading the world in a kind of ‘liberation movement’ away from all of the “bands and cords” by which the LORD and His Christ once bound the world.

These are not just political leaders, but this term includes all cultural leadership, the movers and shakers and opinion makers and formers in education, religion, the Arts, government, entertainment, and culture, Law, since, medicine, etc, they are the blind leading this world into the darkness and ultimately into the pit of hell.

Night has come upon us now…this is their hour and the very power of darkness…

Jesus answered, “Are there not twelve hours in the day? If anyone walks in the day, he does not stumble, because he sees the light of this world. “But if anyone walks in the night, he stumbles, because the light is not in him.” (John 11:9-10)

We must witness and love and share as much as we can, while we can, a terrible night is setting, upon the whole world. Truths which once blessed even unbelievers, because they were of God and evident, are being repudiated and denied now. Did you see the statehouse of New York stand up and applaud the right to kill babies without any restriction? Have you seen the Irish people cast off the same restraints with hearty joy?

Weeping may endure for the Night, But Joy shall come in the morning light…

And Virginia’s governor... Making light of abortion even at the moment of birth! We are consumed with evil. It surrounds us. I weep for this nation, and fear the wrath of an Almighty God.

Thank you so much. I thought about that verse often and its application to Today is spot-on.
