And if my reply to you didn’t come immediately to your mind as obvious even before I said it — you aren’t getting much, if any, Jesus in your heart.

Jesus behaved like heaven, therefore when hell had to be addressed, He was left with only words. You know, actions speak louder than words?

People who make a big tantara about the ETERNAL RIGHTEOUSNESS of Almighty God but don’t think on godly behavior are being hypocrites... and Jesus would say so.

Sometimes the way some Christians come off is like everlasting torture.

Now maybe I’m overreacting, but on the other hand, any description of God’s righteousness that does not include amazing grace as fundamental is simply not true to God, and represents Him as a bully’s buttressing monster instead of a Savior to be evangelized about until it is absolutely plain that the audience won’t listen. And then that audience should still be prayed for!

Looking at how Jesus actually acted rather than at how people have sometimes theologized about Him, it seemed that there wasn’t any sinner too bad for Him to save except those who wouldn’t confess the need of salvation in the first place (e.g. the Pharisees who stood on their theology).

If we look at our own conduct honestly, even the best of us whoever we are, we will see that no, we are not full yet with amazing grace. Similarly to how Paul told us in 1 Corinthians 13, he could do all manner of works according to the law but “if he does not have [agape] love” it “profits him nothing.” Yes, it seems that that “softer side” of God is what energizes the whole of His work. Those trying to be harder than God instead find things very hard on themselves, because they will not be in tune with the Spirit.

Hell is eternal punishment for sin against an eternally righteous God. And eternity is a long time, especially towards the end.

Actually, toward the end, after a trillion trillions of eons have passed, eternity will have just begun. 😁 Does that put it in perspective?

And neither the devil nor his willing servants will have changed their mind about what they want to keep on doing.

.
Righteousness isn’t ‘calling on’ him.

Righteousness is living as he did, embracing the wedding covenant delivered at Sinai.

As John states so clearly in his first epistle, the very definition of sin is the transgression of the wedding covenant. Grace forgives the sin of those that live as he did, in the wedding covenant. And when we stumble, we confess and repent and and are again forgiven.

They won’t change, even a little bit.

That’s rationalization.

Your *holier -than-thouness* is showing.

I guess if everyone was like you, the world would be perfect, eh?

And nothing amiss is showing in the way that the “Eternal Righteousness of Almighty God” is being treated?

Nothing at all, whatsoever?

What do you mean, rationalization.

Documentation of Jesus’ behavior is exactly the way the gospel of John pursues its stated purpose. It’s a very biblical mode. You are being blind to that mode.

Jesus did say “Be perfect.” We know that practically this means to strive towards the perfect.

If you are missing out on or minimizing a major aspect of “the Eternal Righteousness of Almighty God” then you have something to strive towards. Why should you object to being notified about it?

I believe you and the “Jesus told more about hell than heaven” people are the ones in rationalization — because they see talking about hell as a way to bully people into faith. That kind of “faith” ends up not being worth two cents the moment it has to rebuke the devil — because the devil is actually its power.

But oh, they love to rebuke “people.”

Hell: Please don’t go there.
