Good morning.
Malachi is the next to last book of the Old Testament. Maccabees is the last.
Or am I missing something?

I love Msgr Pope.
I continue amazed that he hasn't been slapped down --- yet --- by the Wuerl regime.
I am thinking that'll come.
We'll see how a saint responds to repression. It'll be a sight to see!

Or am I missing something? I believe it depends upon your bible version. :)

Assuming Monsignor Pope is a Catholic. 🧐. I searched the four Catholic translations I have access to. Malachi is listed last and is in the category of minor prophets. Maccabees is last in the category of history. It may have been written last chronologically and/or last in time historically.

The Msgr left out all the Roman Catholic writings on the false notion one has to go through Mary for salvation.
Perhaps because going through Mary is not a requirement for salvation nor a biblical concept.

I am surprised myself that Wuerl has done at all. But then again, Wuerl KNOWS TIMES UP.

Thanks...good explanation. I have the “New Catholic Edition” Douay version of the O.T. 1951.

I remember growing the story called “The Littlest Angel”. The character in it simply refused to put his rode on until towards the end. I may have to do the same myself.

If you have the unabridged version of the Bible (73 books total) sometimes Maccabees is listed between the Historic books and the Wisdom books, or sometimes at the end of the so-called "Minor Prophets", after Malachi.
If you have the abridged version (66 books), you're Shucks Outta Luck...

Salvation as incorporation into the Mystical Body of Christ is a rock-solid Biblical concept, and involves the sharing of our spiritual goods amongst each other IN CHRIST and the intercession of all of us, IN CHRIST. That involves all of us who call upon our Savior, including of course Mary, through whom we have received God's Incarnate Son, Who is her Savior and ours.
Msgr. Pope has written about that.
St. Paul has written much more.
Considering the importance of the Incarnation, Mary's role in the Mystical Body is rather key. IN CHRIST OUR LORD.

Salvation as incorporation into the Mystical Body of Christ is a rock-solid Biblical concept, and involves the sharing of our spiritual goods amongst each other IN CHRIST and the intercession of all of us, IN CHRIST. We cannot share our salvation with anyone else....we can rejoice when others are saved, but the individual's salvation is just that...the individuals.
We become adopted into His family when we believe in Him.
However, my point still stands....writers cited by Roman Catholics say we HAVE to go through Mary for salvation...some even say she dispenses salvation. All thoroughly non-Scriptural beliefs of Roman Catholicism.
We can go straight to Christ for any and all spiritual needs.

I’m reminded of the song lyrics...
Rusty old halo, skinny white cloud,
second hand wings full of patches,
and a robe that’s so woolly it scratches.

TY for the info. I have a copy of "The Encyclopedia of, Lost and Rejected Scriptures", by Joseph Lumpkin, which contains 1-4 Maccabees.

Um. There is only ONE Salvation. All the saved share in it.
I'm pretty sure you haven't quite accessed the "Mystical Body of Christ" reality at its true worth.
