Malachi is the next to last book of the Old Testament. Maccabees is the last.

Assuming Monsignor Pope is a Catholic. 🧐. I searched the four Catholic translations I have access to. Malachi is listed last and is in the category of minor prophets. Maccabees is last in the category of history. It may have been written last chronologically and/or last in time historically.
