I love when God does things like this! Not the fire and destruction of the church building, but lets it be known He has control over what is destroyed and saved, like this painting of Jesus.

The piece of artwork, which hung near the front doors of First Baptist Church in Wakefield, Mass., somehow of course survived the massive blaze which was likely caused by a lightning strike completely unscathed.There...fixed it.

Church was right down the street from my office in Wakefield. I think God’s aim was off a bit as there is a Universal Unitarian tree hugger church right across the street.

That's alazing, not even smoke damage or scorching. A sign of hope for sure! Reminds me of the Our Lady of Guadalupe image in Mexico City.
In 1921, an anti-clerical activist hid a bomb containing 29 sticks of dynamite in a pot of roses and placed it less than two feet from the (at that time) 400-year-old image inside the Basilica. When the bomb exploded, most everything was destroyed from the marble altar rail & floor just feet away from the blast, to windows shattered 150 meters away ...yet the image and the glass surrounding it remained untouched. The only damage that occurred in close proximity to the image was a hefty brass crucifix, which was twisted and bent back by the blast.

I’m more surprised to see that aol is still around.
Nice that their painting survived, but does this mean that Jesus will get a wardrobe replacement? It’s time, really. And no I’m not joking, in case anyone is wondering.
He is depicted in a flowing robe, but it’s 2018, and it’s Fall. Shouldn’t he be wearing work pants and a flannel shirt? Carharrt has a good selection of functional clothing. Nothing wrong with a beard, but that hairstyle is a relic of the 70s.
These are practical concerns and questions. No sarcasm whatsoever.

It’s too bad to lose the church but I think the message that came through will never be missed.
Come time of tribulation He can save you, too.

Yeah because one of God's Ten Commandments said to bow before graven images..Oh wait... no, it's the opposite.
Hate to see an historic old church go down like this, which is a great loss but as a sign of a ""miracle". Eh...not so much if you understand the Bible and it's teaching of "graven images".(Which was of very "Nordic" version of an man who was middle eastern in genetics and most likely in appearance)

Years ago I was working at a Automotive Repair & Wrecker Service and the Wrecker came in with a Chevy Silverado that had an engine fire that had burned everything forward of the bed. Sitting on top of the melted center console was a Bible. I picked it out and inspected it. Burned all over the outside including the edges of the pages and I opened it up and began looking through it. NOT ONE PRINTED WORD WAS TOUCHED, SCORCHED OR WATER DAMAGED from the fire or putting out the fire and it rode a 60+MPH without the windshield and the rest of the windows were missing and NOT EVEN ANY WIND DAMAGE, no torn or folded over pages.
It disappeared during one of My moves but it was incredible to see that The Word was intact.

A seven-alarm fire that tore through a 150-year-old church in Massachusetts miraculously spared a painting of Jesus Christ, WFXT reports. The fire didn't spare the painting.
God did.

It’s a clear reminder that the church is not a building, it’s Jesus and His children of God.

The Church at the end of Wall Street survived 9/11 unscathed if I recall. Substantial damage to the buildings around it.
