Latin Masses were normal at least up until 1965 (my own experience, until 1970!). I’m surprised you never were at one Latin Mass.
I was taken to church by late as a small child, but as best barely remember.
1963, when family moved to the burbs, the year JFK was assassinated. One time I do remember when being told by late mother of a newly ordained priest who was being sent to future hometown to start new parish.
