This was a comment, not mine, on the web link you posted:

“We must abandon this evil church and pray the rosary constantly.”

We ARE the Church, how can we possible abandon it? Those who believe Jesus Christ’s words will not fail, how can such a group of believers leave the mystical body of which they are living members? Notice the appeal to Catholic sentiment by reference to the Rosary. The Rosary is one of the most powerful prayers, but this sentence couples apostasy with it. This sentence has all the hallmarks of Lucifer speaking, hoping to trip up a few of the Elect.

No, we Catholics do not have to leave anything. We have to pray, fast, do penance. Love those who love us and love those who hate us, all for the love of God. We are to live and die trusting that He is preparing a place for us.

The question that needs to be asked is the Church in a cold civil war or cold schism?

Amen. This is serious business. The date where every Catholic must decide for himself on whether to leave or pursue schism is rapidly approaching. Pray that the cup will pass.

I don’t think that he is smart enough or a forceful enough personality to be the middle. I think that the middle is probably unstable, and thus unfocused, but I may very well be wrong.

Otherwise, I probably largely agree with you, but think that the process has been gradual, and wouldn’t put any particular weight on the beginning or end of St. Pius X’s papacy.
