VATICAN CITY (LifeSiteNews) Pope Francis has asked the bishops of Germany to come to a unanimous decision on whether a Protestant spouse who is married to a Catholic may receive the Holy Eucharist in some exceptional cases.
The news follows reports that the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, with the Popes approval, had already written a letter to German bishops rejecting their proposal to allow some Protestant spouses to receive Holy Communion. According to the reports, Pope Francis did not wish the letter to be made public because it didnt fit the narrative and direction of this pontificate.
In a statement released this evening, after a meeting between German bishops and Vatican officials, Archbishop Luis Ladaria, SJ, prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, explained that Pope Francis appreciates the ecumenical commitment of the German bishops and asks them to find, in a spirit of ecclesial communion, a unanimous result if possible.
During the talks, which were convened at 4pm at the offices of the Vaticans Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, various points of view were discussed, including the relationship of the question [of intercommunion] with faith and pastoral care, its relevance for the universal Church and its juridical dimension, the statement read.
It also noted that Archbishop Ladaria will inform the Holy Father about the content of the conversations and said the meeting took place in a cordial and fraternal atmosphere.
Pope Francis was not in attendance at the meeting.
Present at todays talks were Cardinal Rainer Maria Woelki of Cologne and Bishop Rudolf Voderholzer of Regensburg. It took a lot of people to make the golden calf while Moses was up on the mountain. I don’t think unanimity matters when the idea is sacrilegious.
not a catholic...
but in any event, it is wrong to take communion in a church you were not confirmed in.
it just good manners and shows the proper respect.
Frankie likes to get his buds to push for what he wants, without him saying much. Then when they spout off, what they say becomes the new way of thinking for everyone. That way Frankie doesn’t have to look like he is the one doing all the reforming.
When this pope “asks” for something there is always an unstated “... or else!” inside it. And everyone knows it.
A great example of throwing someone under the bus.
Let them do the dirty work so you don’t have to take the fall for it.
Bergolio is using Clinton’s “plausible deniability” tactic by not being present at the clerics’ “proceedings.”
How I want to use another descriptive word for their gathering.
Dark woods at midnight comes to mine.
In reading "Dictator Pope," it is the opinion of the leadership of the liberals that any bishop or cardinal not in step with the pope should be excommunicated from the Church.
So, yeah, "unanimous" is what Frankie wants.
And, the reason why he did not move into the Papal palace was not because he was rejecting the idea of wealth. No, he stayed in the apartments because he likes to be close to his liberal buds, eating with them and such so he can keep abreast of all the gossip that might be a detriment to him.
BTW - the apartments he decided to live in took on a 2 million dollar renovation. So, he is not the frugal, close-to-the-people type that he pretends to be.
What concerning this matter is left to be decided?
Well, I know my Synodical body is not part of this in the slightest.
Having said that, sacrificing pure doctrine on the altar of so-called unity is really stupid.
Then again, the doctrines of that the people pushing this are not Christian; they’re leftists first and Christians never.
