Genocide: Christian Population in Iraq Drops by 80% Since 2003
Breitbart ^ | March 30, 2016 | Thomas D. Williams

Posted on 05/02/2018 2:14:50 PM PDT by Sontagged

The Christian population in Iraq has been decimated, dropping from 1.4 million in 2003 to just 275,000, according to a report released this month (2016).

The report, compiled by the Knights of Columbus/IDC, tells a horrific story of religious/ethnic purge in the Middle East that has produced the systematic eradication of Christians...

Christianity’s roots in Iraq date to the first century and has fallen prey to Islamist militants committed to their extermination.

The Chaldean Archbishop of Erbil testified for many centuries Christians of Iraq experienced hardships and persecutions “but what we have now experienced are the worst acts of genocide in our homeland.

We are facing the extinction of Christianity as a religion in Iraq.”

The tactics employed by the Islamic State to drive away Christians are well known. Christians are subject to “repeated threats of death in the form of a gun to the head or a sword to the throat”; subjected to “beatings, choking, threats of rape, and mock executions. They had electricity and water cut off, and deprived of basic sanitation.”

The study described Christians "rounded up into busses and driven out to a remote place to fend for themselves..”

Breitbart reported the Christian population in Syria precipitated from 1.5 million to 500,000 in 5 years from 2011-16, since the beginning of the armed conflict there.

This decrease is the result of targeted Christian persecution, the death or expulsion of a million Christians from the land where Saint Paul was converted to Christianity.

The Chaldean bishop of Aleppo reported the situation is even worse than the rest of Syria, with only a quarter of the Christian population remaining since Syria’s civil war in 2011.

Ravaged by fighting and persecuted by Islamic extremists, the number of Christians in Aleppo has fallen from 160,000 to just 40,000 (in 2016)

Two year old article, the statistics now are worse.

Again, Christian genocide is the fruit of fake WMDs and BushRINO Uniparty evil.

Calling ISIL ISIS by different names than we had in 2001 makes no difference, it's clearly a moral and religious disaster that can be laid directly at the feet of the BushRINO Uniparty.

Same way the Bush Adminsitration funded Planned Parenthood for the full eight years, while we Christians just bought the lies because it was GOP branded.

I’ll never forgive myself for voting for that POS twice!

But some ALWAYSBUSHer will come along with a dossier of reasons that we need to go into Iraq.

One here even said one time the Sauds had “nothing to do with it”.

Don’t care that the wife died, won’t care when the elder bush dies, won’t care when the younger bushes die.

I dont cry over traitors dying.

As long as NONE of them ever has strong political power again.

But hey, they’ve got some “really cool things” they could be doing instead anyway.

Bush followed by obama was the WORST thing that could have happened to the Christians over there.

What a horrifying shame and disgrace and holocaust.

YES, it was and is a HOLOCAUST.

No wonder Jeb Bush was less popular than ISIS among American voters by the time we got to 2016.

The worst thing that could have happened to the Iraqi Christians was cutting off OIF funding before the IA was capable of defending the country. This occurred in 2007 necessitating the removal of US troops. This resulted in the return of Iraqi insurgents from Syria and their re-branding as of ISIS in 2011. It is precisely what Nancy Pelosi’s 2007-2009 Congress did, in coordination with the Obama WH with full damage control and PR cover provided by the Leftist MSM and their willfully ignorant supporters.

Yep.

And today I heard Condi idiotically brag that attacking Iraq “kept us safe in the US” ...

... but all the while Christians were being decimated in Iraq?

BushRINO lying doublespeak. The fruit of Condi’s lies is Christian genocide and I believe they knew this in advance.

Don’t obfuscate with left vs right politics when we all know a Uniparty runs things.

The invasion of Iraq was Bush-led, Uniparty evil, the fruit of it being Christian genocide.

(And on our own turf, the Bush Administration funded Planned Parenthood and the selling of baby parts since 2001)

Thanks, George Bush.

But does that get me quite off the hook? I voted for him twice.

Agreed.

What good MIGHT have come from that invasion was DESTROYED by obummer.

Sometimes I forget what TRAGEDY and DOOM he brought to the world.

Yet let’s spend billions to find out if Trump watched some russian hookers urinate on a bed or if he said hello to Putin in the past 10 years. EXTREME /S

I feel the same, but you must ask yourself - what was the choice? Al Gore and John Kerry? McCain and Romney vs. Obama?

I suspect Gore would have been lead into Iraq as well with the help of the Deep State, the Saudis and others. Americans, and the world, believed Obama was the "peace prize" President, but he turned out to be more destructive in the mid-east, and at least equally destructive towards Christians. Syria, Libya, Egypt, Ukraine - those are just a few of Obama's projects.

Overall, I believe we must stop accepting Uniparty/DC/Deep State/Media "false choices." Trump's election was a reaction to that.

Decimation means one ten.

The destruction of Christians in Iraq is far worse than a decimation:

How old are you? You could not have been an adult in 2003 to have such a childish view of the Iraq war and the results of removing US troops prematurely. Everything you know about Iraq appears to be the result of false and misleading narratives.

You say the invasion of Iraq was evil. You have clearly not even read the Wikipedia articles on the Iraq war, Iraq’s WMD programs, the Iraq war resolution, Saddam’s actions in the ME, his transfer of biological and chemical weapons to Syria, his pursuit of a nuclear bomb which compelled Iran’s nuclear weapon program, etc. Saddam’s ethnic cleansing of one quarter million Marsh Arabs prior to the 2003 invasion as well as his 10 year offensive against the northern Kurds.

As for the massacres perpetrated by ISIS that is the fruit of the Nov. 2006 Democrat voters who voted in a Democrat-Controlled Congress in 2007 headed by Nancy Pelosi. Together with the Obama WH they charted the destabilization of the Middle East and the rise of Islamic extremism throughout the region. The Islamic extremists started in Iraq in 2009 (AIQ/ISIS) then spread to Egypt (Muslim Brotherhood) and Syria (ISIS, Muslim Brotherhood, etc) in 2010 and finally Bahrain (Iran’s Hezbollah) in 2015.

Lastly, Planned Parenthood is funded by Congress, not the Executive branch. It is overwhelming supported by Leftists and Democrats. There has never been enough Pro-life Republicans block its funding. Finally, it was Planned Parenthood administrators, not elected politicians who sold baby parts.

Ummm... I was right here on FR in 2003 and had and have CLOSE relatives in high places in both conflicts there. (JimRob booted me, probably with good intentions, for complaining that Bush should NOT have open borders during wartime, that it was a treasonous stand for a supposed conservative to take. I didn't know then that Ted Cruz was writing Bush's amnesty position papers...)

I was the biggest supporter of Bush, so don't lecture me on this crap. They lied. Colin Powell admitted it was B.S. around the same time people were accusing him and he was admitting to be a member of those weirdo Elite Bohemian pervs-only clubs.

How about what Jacques Chirac said Bush told him about why France had to help the US invade Iraq?

Because it was all about “Gog and Magog”. Chirac was stunned. He had to hire a Bible expert to figure out what the heck nut-job Bush was talking about. The same nut-job Bush who says that "Christians and Moslems worship the same god"...! Condi chimed in at the time with that ancient prophecy crap, too. All to prove they aren't Christians, just elite freaks gaming the bible.

You do YOUR homework on Planned Parenthood and Rove and Bush.

Karen Handel wrote in her book that KARL ROVE was calling the shots about Planned Parenthood and Susan G Komen... and once this little tidbit of information slipped out, Handel was fired.

You write like you don't understand the Uniparty Globalists are in charge of things... thus the Christian Genocide in Iraq.

Have a nice day, and don't be such a sucker for Globalist Uniparty LIES.

Yep. You’re right. There seems to be some really good Christian films coming out now on the subject of the Iraq Genocide.

Thanks again to the BushRINOUniparty.

Excellent question. But in a spirit of penance for my Bushvotes, I have researched out a surprisingly quasi-religious motive for Bush invading Iraq.

He somehow believes that Iraq is “mystery Babylon” and does not understand that modern Iraq (which of course, IS ancient Babylon) can not be “mystery Babylon” as described in Revelation. Not enough commerce or port cities or music making for that metaphoric designation.

But with that apparent misinterpretation fueling his decision, Bush told his cabinet (well, at least Condi) and his coalition partners (well, at least Jacques Chirac) that invading Iraq was all about “Gog and Magog”...

Add to it that Bush is no Christian. No one can be a Christian and say that “Christians and Moslems worship the same God” as did Bush.

So why are they war-gaming the Bible? There was a sub par action novelist who wrote some books about Iraq being mystery Babylon around that time, as if to infer that Iraq was going to be the hub of all the world’s commerce in the near future

This economic reasoning explains to me why both parties wanted to invade and take over Iraq. They thought it was a financial bonanza, and this is why Condi said invading Iraq was all about “ancient prophecies” at the time.

Jesus tells us “ye shall know them by their fruits” .. these are insane, murderous Globalists.

"Overall, I believe we must stop accepting Uniparty/DC/Deep State/Media "false choices." Trump's election was a reaction to that."

And the Uniparty's puke reaction to Trump is because the President exposes these "false choices" and false "gridlock" in Washington.

They've got to keep up the Russian fake news because they are COMPLETELY exposed as liars who refuse to do what they were elected to do.

We have the House, Senate and White House.

But nothing is being done except trashing Trump.

Would Jesus Christ be extremely tempted to cuss up a storm with us here? I think so.

It’s so interesting how the MSM pushes the Bushes in a manner that they never, ever would push Sarah Palin or Trump.

HBO slammed Palin with GAME CHANGE, yet the same year did a doc on HW Bush.

Now HBO is doing a documentary on McCain? Whaaa?
