Most Catholic leaders didn't go to bat for Terri Schiavo either. I think the pope at the time spoke out about it in favor of letting her live, even invited some to Rome as I recall.
This child may be very damaged, I heard last night on Joe Pags a Brit who came to NY said if the parents even try to feed the child, they will be charged with ASSAULT?
The bottom line is that often severely comatose and or brain-damaged patients can hear what is being said and even if they can't, they can feel the love of those who don't want to give up on them. And their loving physical touch
