Matthew 18

Amazing, and didn’t realize until we arrived on our trip we’d enjoy this celebration!!!

I have long thought that those that enter Heaven will become children again for eternity. I find that extremely compelling, in that one would have a childlike wonder about everything. Imagine getting to learn new and wondrous things, in the presence of God, for eternity!

She doesn’t look a day over 5000.

Another aspect of the Number 70 is found in the ancient tradition from the Talmud that says "When the wine goes in, the sectrets come out." This is based on the following pair of identities:

Well, the neighborhood bully, he’s just one man
His enemies say he’s on their land
They got him outnumbered about a million to one
He got no place to escape to, no place to run
He’s the neighborhood bully.

The neighborhood bully he just lives to survive
He’s criticized and condemned for being alive
He’s not supposed to fight back, he’s supposed to have thick skin
He’s supposed to lay down and die when his door is kicked in

The neighborhood bully been driven out of every land
He’s wandered the earth an exiled man
Seen his family scattered, his people hounded and torn
He’s always on trial for just being born

Well, he knocked out a lynch mob, he was criticized
Old women condemned him, said he should apologize
Then he destroyed a bomb factory, nobody was glad
The bombs were meant for him. He was supposed to feel bad

We have noted that 50 represents the full journey toward acceptance of Torah in the 50 days bridging Pesach and Shavuos. The passage through life calls for the Jew to emulate the national passage to Sinai. He must proceed until the natural end – and then go beyond it. He must transcend the finite and touch the sublime 50th gate that belongs over and above the natural rules of This World.

The greatest prophets saw God only in “visions.” The Israelites saw God directly and could point to God. To translate this into our terms, the people of Israel had an experience of God that was overwhelming. They felt themselves to be in God’s presence and to have experienced God’s salvation directly. They were closer to the Divine than at any other time.
We may well ask ourselves, “What actually happened at the sea?” Was there a sudden strong wind?
