According to Andres Beltramo at the Vatican Insider, Bishop Marcelo Sánchez Sorondo, chancellor of the Pontifical Academy for Sciences, assured that "at this moment, the Chinese people are the ones who best realize the social doctrine of the Church."

How would you like to be a persecuted Chinese Christian and here that?
Or have those words emblazoned on your church walls — at the same time as the government is insisting that pictures of Jesus be replaced with those of President Xi?
So social doctrine is now abolition of the family, private property, religion and national borders?

Red China’s control of its subjects is the envy of the world; whereas Western governments look to them to light the way in suppressing freedoms and dissent, Red Frankly probably envies a system where “donations” - even Mass attendance - could be compulsory.
The Catholic Church fell from “detached” under previous Popes (which is what Jesus seemed to anticipate) to “completely removed from society” under this one - oddly enough, because this Pope wanted the Church to assimilate into the larger secular culture.
Yeah, like bulldozing the church buildings and incarcerating the worshipers?
I can’t even imagine how they feel. This is one of the cruelest betrayals ever.
