How would you like to be a persecuted Chinese Christian and here that?

Or have those words emblazoned on your church walls — at the same time as the government is insisting that pictures of Jesus be replaced with those of President Xi?

So social doctrine is now abolition of the family, private property, religion and national borders?

The Papacy is named in the Manifesto’s preamble as communism’s primary enemy. Concords between Christ and Belial do not exist.

Red China’s control of its subjects is the envy of the world; whereas Western governments look to them to light the way in suppressing freedoms and dissent, Red Frankly probably envies a system where “donations” - even Mass attendance - could be compulsory.

The Catholic Church fell from “detached” under previous Popes (which is what Jesus seemed to anticipate) to “completely removed from society” under this one - oddly enough, because this Pope wanted the Church to assimilate into the larger secular culture.

I suppose the Monsignor wishes the church could emulate Chinese justice and treat heretics this way.

Yeah, like bulldozing the church buildings and incarcerating the worshipers?

I can’t even imagine how they feel. This is one of the cruelest betrayals ever.
