Happy New Year! First, the good news: the world didnt end in 2017. Were still here, and unless something cataclysmic happens in the next few hours, we're evidently to be spared our much-deserved Divine chastisement...at least this year.
The bad news? We Catholics still have the leadership we deserve. The newly christened dictator pope may have started at the bottom but over the course of 2017 he seems to have found a way to go down. In fact, his papal expedition to theological La La Land has its sights set on October 2018--the much dreaded Synod of Young People.
So, to the prediction: I predict that before this New Year comes to an end, Pope Francis and his band of merry men willeither directly or indirectlyfind a way to give at least tacit approval of so-called gay unions.
At a press conference at the Vatican which I covered in person during the last Synod, Cardinal Peter Turkson promised that the question of "gay unions" would be taken up at the next Synod. They're playing it down at the moment, but I stick to my prediction that "gay unions" will be the bombshell of the 2018 Synod.
I make this prediction not to be provocative but rather because I truly believe this is coming. As I see it, we Catholics have got only a few months in which to make up our minds: Are we going to go along with the calculated destruction of the human element of Christs Church, or are we going to stand and resist?

No way.
Gay marriage will be the least of our worries with that false pope.
Doubtful. Despite what the media might play up about his comments, his. Owes on matrimony and abortion are in line with Church teachings. He’s not likely to say other Popes were wrong on the subject
It would be playing with fire if it did.
I’m on record here and elsewhere for saying that in my lifetime, the Church will sanction gay marriage.
“...in my lifetime, the Church will sanction gay marriage...”
I understand your apprehensions, but I’m betting against it.
Even this jesuit knows better.
Gay unions will never be eligible for the sacrament of matrimony. That doesn’t mean that openly gay couples will not be accepted in every other way. It will be up to the individual priest using his discernment.
And Pope Francis will make sure that only priests with a particular kind of discernment get promoted through the hierarchy, if he hasn’t done so already.
I think there is a very good chance of this happening. And it explains the intentional deception of Amoris Laetitia.
Guess them catholics can take a pass on donations by the homo’s
Morality b damned.
Not going to happen.
If it does, it’s schism time.
How else can you create a rump Catholic Church??
And still Catholics will insist that he’s “still the pope”.
Not going to happen.
Some thoughts:
St. Paul's outright condemning of gay activity makes it impossible for the Church to endorse gay marriage in any way, shape or form.
But Bergolio can still dream about it, and say vague stuff about how we should not condemn gays, etc., as he has done over and over during his tenure. Look for lots of that at the synod.
People were a little too quick to canonize JP2. He more than any other pope let the gay mafia thrive during his tenure.
People who are really angry about Bergolio's leftist stance can and will merely go to orthodox churches (Russian, Greek, Syrian, etc.,) which they are ALREADY in communion with, except for merely signing up and introducing themselves at their nearby orthodox parish before going to communion there.
So it seems to me the cardinals will thump on Bergolio soon to tone it down lest the true Roman Catholics get happy feet and leave. The RC parishes are hanging on by a thread now. Upsetting the existing parishioners is dumb on many levels. Expect feedback from the cardinals to ramp up this year.
Like who? Burke?
Nope. Not in a hair’s breath.
Not this Catholic. I have serious doubts about the election of Francis and with each passing day I feel more strongly that Benedict is the only true pope
Roman Catholics should stick to Catholic teachings unlike this communist pope. Regroup if necessary, this is our church not his private sect. Paradoxically Francis would enjoy such outcome (Catholics in Orthodox churches) because this is very ‘ecumenical’ and traditional teaching is still lost.
Or that the seat of Peter is vacant.
...in my lifetime, the Church will sanction gay marriage...
I understand your apprehensions, but Im betting against it.
Even this jesuit knows better.

It won’t happen all it once. It will start with ‘gays can have their unions blessed.’ And so on.
