And the word of the Lord came unto me, saying, Son of man, set thy face against Gog, the land of Magog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal, and prophesy against him, And say, Thus saith the Lord God; Behold, I am against thee, O Gog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal: And I will turn thee back, and put hooks into thy jaws, and I will bring thee forth, and all thine army, horses and horsemen, all of them clothed with all sorts of armour, even a great company with bucklers and shields, all of them handling swords: Persia, Ethiopia, and Libya with them; all of them with shield and helmet: Gomer, and all his bands; the house of Togarmah of the north quarters, and all his bands: and many people with thee. Be thou prepared, and prepare for thyself, thou, and all thy company that are assembled unto thee, and be thou a guard unto them.(Ezekiel 38:1-7)

Changes are coming to Saudi Arabia, as Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salmon, son of the current King Salmon bin Abdul-Aziz Al Saud Salman ascends to the throne and power on the Arabian peninsula. The current King is 81 years old and assumed to step down very soon.

There have already been reforms, such as allowing women to drive , and changes in economic and security policy, as the Crown Prince has taken an ever larger role in government.

But most recently Salmon has been conducting serious purges, arresting high level Princes, ministers, Saudi Military leaders, and Businessmen on charges of corruption.

Those targeted include the popular entrepreneurial billionaire Alwaleed bin Talal and the head of the National Guard and son of the previous king, Mutaib bin Abdallah.

In the same time frame, a helicopter carrying the influential prince Mansoor bin Muqrin also mysteriously crashed in the country’s southern wilderness, killing all on board. While this latter incident may have simply been a malfunction, its timing has raised eyebrows.

While possibly confronting some sources of corruption inside the kingdom, these arrests have undeniably neutered many potential foils to the designs of Mohammad bin Salman and his penchant for unilateral decision-making.(Princes,Power and Purges)

There is speculation that these moves of the Crown Prince are a ruthless demonstration of the consolidation of power by an incoming King, and the removal of any possible rivals.

But there are other possibilities in these actions.

The Saudis are sensitive to the shifting of political powers around them and of the decreasing stranglehold by which OPEC once held the world’s nations, through control of oil prices.

They are deathly afraid of the rising power of Iran, their aggressive Shiite Rival. Saudi Arabia and the gulf states have been fighting an ongoing proxy war with Iran in Yemen,Iraq, Lebanon and Syria. In spite of US and European assistance, the Iranian hegemony has been increasing over the Arabian interests in these proxy wars, keeping Bashir Assad in power, staving off the Isis Caliphate, and proving Arabs impotent to prevail over Houtti rebels (Shiite) in Yemen.

The Iranian Nuclear deal, in which President Obama opened the way for the Ayatollahs to gain a first world Nuclear program, and 150 Billion US dollars in spite of Iran’s avowal that “the destruction of Israel was non-negotiable” is perhaps the most troubling development for the Saudis.

The Crown Prince Solomon seems to be trying to make the Desert Kingdom more palatable to western investors, liberalizing the strict moral code of the nation,(omen will be able to drive as of june 2018) , reining in the heavy supporters and financiers of Al Queda, ISIS and other Wahhabi inspired terror groups.

There are even talks with Israel in view of the Iranian threat to the region.

In the Ezekiel Passage above we see a coalition, predicted 2500 years ago, which is forming before our very eyes at this time!

Gog is a person, He is the head of Magog, which is an antiGod coalition (Some consider it to be a reference to the peoples of the Caucuses region,Russia). Meshec and Tubal are in what we now call Turkey. So also are Gomer and the House of Togarmeh, these are Turkic regions.

Persia is Iran. Biblical Ethiopia encompassed the Somalia and Sudan region, which is currently Islamic. Libya is in North Africa. All of these nations are currently working together, in the Syrian war defending the Alawite President Basher Assad from the Sunni coalition backed by US and EU power.

But there is no mention of the Arabs involved in the Coalition. Instead, we see a passage in the same chapter which tells us that “Sheba and Dedan”, (These are in todays Saudi Arabian region) along with the Merchants of Tarshish ( An ancient reference to westernmost powers) , seemingly raise a weak objection to the invasion of Israel by the Magogic Persian/Turkish led coalition.

Sheba, and Dedan, and the merchants of Tarshish, with all the young lions thereof, shall say unto thee, Art thou come to take a spoil? hast thou gathered thy company to take a prey? to carry away silver and gold, to take away cattle and goods, to take a great spoil?(Ezekiel 38:13)

Prophecy after Christ is like reading the will after you’ve already received your inheritance. JMHO

What does “Prophecy” say about worthless bloggers who troll sites looking to goose their web traffic?

I don’t get this obsession with prophecy by some varieties of Christians. The only prophesy Christians should care about are the Old Testament prophecies predicting the Messiah’s coming, his death and resurrection. They have all been fulfilled in Jesus Christ. Making predictions, now, of wars and rumors of wars is not just a waste of time with no benefit for our salvation, it was something Christ specically said not to do: “No man knows the time”

Poisen Pill you are living up to your name! I have no idea what you are talking about...I am a longtime contributor and supporter of Free Republic, I posted in religion, as I have done perhaps a thousand times earlier. if I were trying to boost my traffic to my blog, I would have only published part of my article, not all of it. I forgive you though for being rude.

Are you saying all of prophecy has already been fulfilled? Why does Jesus tell us to watch and pray and study the scripture(two thirds of which are prophecy) and be alert, “for you not what time your Lord shall come...” wake up linear, you are missing out on a lot of exciting and apocalyptic events!

Agreed. It has always smacked of hubris to me. Christ crucified and risen. ‘Nuff said.

William,William,William, all true Christians are to be utterly attentive to all of the Word of God, including the Prophecies(which make up about two thirds of the entire book). The Old Testament prophesies of two comings of Christ, not just one. The events surrounding the second coming are to be anticipated, proclaimed, studied and prayed ver, that we be ready when He comes. There is no “waste of time “ in any of it...according to Peter, the Lord’s apostle who, (after the fulfillment of first coming prophecies) urged us to attend to the second coming prophecies as well. I am afraid you are in danger of falling int the category of being one of the mockers he waned of...This second epistle, beloved, I now write unto you; in both which I stir up your pure minds by way of remembrance:

2 That ye may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us the apostles of the Lord and Saviour:

3 Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,

4 And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.

Exciting and apocalyptic events are dust on my shoe compared to God’s son who was crucified and died for my sins. What will I care of these events when I finally meet Him face to face?

Wow, you are accusing people who take the prophetic word seriously of hubris? Why is it in the Bible if it is just a temptation to hubris? “All scripture is profitable...” Linear. Two thirds of the Bible are composed of prophecies...should we just leave them out?

I’m not a scoffer. The promise of his coming is the resurrection. Everything else is a guessing game, as Jesus explicitly said : “no man knows the time”. Our salvation doesn’t depend on figuring out the end times, it was secured by the cross 2000 years ago

No one is making a comparison, because these are all of the same...the first coming of Jesus leads to the second coming of Jesus, you cannot divide them and make relative comparisons. No one in the New Testament would ever make such a statement as your “dust on the shoe” statement when talking about Prophecies of end time events. They would never dream of pitting the first coming against the second,
“Let your waist be girded and your lamps burning; and you yourselves be like men who wait for their master, when he will return from the wedding, that when he comes and knocks they may open to him immediately. Blessed are those servants whom the master, when he comes, will find watching ” (Luke 12:35-36).

William, william,William, The promise of his coming includes the final resurrection, but also includes so much more which the Prophets were inspired to write about; the resurrection of Israel into her land (in unbelief) the final siege and deliverance of Jerusalem (Zech 12:1-3) the revived Roman Empire (Daniel 2) the rise of AntiChrist(Rev 13) the Mark of the Beast(Rev 13) the final destruction of Babylon(Rev 17-18) the God sent delusion (2 these 2) and a whole lot more. To reduce everything else to a mere guessing hame is a gross oversimplification and displays a contempt for the Word of God which is breathtaking. This is why I warn you, that you are nigh to being a scoffer, my friend. None of this discussion as centered around a possible date setting, so why pretend it has?

Pastor, I enjoy your posts.

Prophecy in these times is important. Jesus in the Olivet discourse warned us about the things to look for before His return, starting with, “Watch out that no one deceives you.”

When one reads Ezekiel 38 and sees today’s alignment of nations suspiciously appearing to line up, one should perk up and take notice, imo.

Those were the last words heard by a lot of people recently murdered in Syria and Iraq.

So you think studying Christian scriptures which promise the coming of Jesus, is equivalent to Muslim fanatics slaughtering people in the name of ALLAH???? Just Wow!
