I love to swim, but I sometimes get in over my head. Frantically, I reach down with my feet, trying to find a rock that will lift my chin above the water. Although this Passage actually refers to a High Rock, which is a tower of Strength, Refuge, and Permanence, The Rock that Lifts me up and saves me from drowning is what comes to my mind when I read this!

Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord God is an everlasting rock.

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

A big insurance company headquartered in Boston, MA, has a very prominent and unforgettable logo. It is the Gateway to the Mediterranean, the "Pillars of Hercules", the giant, recognizable, Rock of Gibraltar. When I saw that symbol on the TV advertising the insurance company, I had no idea what it was, but I KNEW it was something, big, strong, permanent, an immovable. Of course, years later, when the Insurance company represented by that rock built what would for many years be the tallest building in Boston, I knew better...that business empires, sports associations, movie stars, and "the tallest building", can all be eclipsed or come tumbling down. The tower that was built back in the sixties, that once pierced the Boston skyline, is now surrounded by many more modern buildings more grand and sleek than its boxy sixties design.

Even the giant rocks that dot the landscape were either placed there by glaciers, and can be scraped off just as easily.

There is only ONE ROCK that is not moved. That is the Eternal Rock of Ages, The One True God.

Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.

Yesterday I uncovered a set of three rocks that are maybe 4 ft across total, and one is flat on top just right for a place to sit.

They were barely obscured by a thick mat of moss that lifted up like a carpet. Today I gave them a bath. The top was just plain dirty and lacking character, but now the sun will brighten them up. They are on the side of a slope next to a path I am working on. Being on high ground, they are visible from all around the yard and also the house.

Buried treasure, just waiting for me to find it.

I am a fan of large rocks. :)
