And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days… And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent.(Revelation 12:6,14)
The Dragon hates the woman. Though Satan couldn’t stop the birth of the Messiah, his triumphant life and ministry, and his death and resurrection, He still utterly hates Israel for being the vessel used by God.
This is what has driven the two-thousand year history of anti-Semitism throughout the world.
A survey of the previous century alone reveals the hideous truth of near universal hatred of Jews.
Early in the century the slanderous lies of the popular book, The Protocols of the Wise Men of Zion, poisoned he minds of intellectuals throughout Europe. This poured fuel upon the already rampant antisemitism expressing itself in raging pograms throughout Eastern Europe, the Ukraine and Russia. World War One set the stage for the Nazi holocaust and slaughter of one-third of all world Jewry, the success of which depended in large part upon the apathy of America and Europe to Jewish suffering.
After the Second World War the world said “never again” would they sit by idly while Jews are slaughtered. Then came the rise of Petro-Arabia, and through that Petro-wealth came a resurgent Wahhabi Islam, spreading the most extreme and virulent strain of Islam throughout the world. As the century closed, the lights began going out in Europe for Jewish life, as the persecution began again in earnest, this time through Moslem Immigrants.
Satan is raging! Through mass immigration of Muslims into the civilized world, combined with lowered birthrates due to abortion and birth control, The stage is being set for the final holocaust.
How bad will it get? So bad that the Jewish people will have to flee to the wilderness for a while, and to re-live the Exodus, complete with having to live in tents and booths in the wilderness.
On the one hand it will be a flight for Israel’s life. Somewhere in that last period of time, there will be a very public display of blasphemy, by the anti-Christ. This display, is called “The abomination of desolation”, and was predicted by Daniel the Prophet.
In Matthew 24, Jesus was making a definitive description of the “End of the Age”, and was listing te various signs of the times and of his coming, he listed many universal spasms such as earthquakes, famines, pestilences and wars. But in verse 16 Jesus suddenly speaks to a specific location;
When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:) Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains: Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house: Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes. And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days! But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day: For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.(Matthew 24:15-20)
The tribulation will commence when the abomination of desolation is committed. On that day, Jesus warns those in Judea ( Currently called, The West Bank, or the Occupied Territory), to flee to the wilderness. Something so awful will begin to happen, and the urgency will be so great, Jess tells the Jews of Judea not to even go into the house to pack.
The U.N. spends about a third of all of its time deliberating these tree separate but connected issues; the status of Jerusalem, the borders of Israel, and the establishment of the Palestinian state, in Judea and in the Gaza. Those Jews who live in Judea, are consider occupiers and interlopers. The world hates them and pressure is constantly being put on Israel to force them out of the area just as the Israeli government forced jews out of the Gaza.
The situation will explode,near the end, to the point where Jews will have to flee out into the wilderness to relive the exodus, and to be sustained by God himself. The “wings of the great Eagle” spoken of in Revelation 12 are an allusion to God’s own description of the Exodus experience and his tender care for the young Israel.
He found him in a desert land, and in the waste howling wilderness; he led him about, he instructed him, he kept him as the apple of his eye. As an eagle stirreth up her nest, fluttereth over her young, spreadeth abroad her wings, taketh them, beareth them on her wings:(Deuteronomy 32:10-11)
Hosea had warned that God would take Israel, his unfaithful wife, back out into the wilderness, that he might rekindle their love. They would once again call each other husband and wife, and be betrothed anew as a result of the trip to the wilderness…
Therefore, behold, I will allure her, and bring her into the wilderness, and speak comfortably unto her…. And it shall be at that day, saith the Lord, that thou shalt call me Ishi; and shalt call me no more Baali. For I will take away the names of Baalim out of her mouth, and they shall no more be remembered by their name… And I will betroth thee unto me for ever; yea, I will betroth thee unto me in righteousness, and in judgment, and in lovingkindness, and in mercies. I will even betroth thee unto me in faithfulness: and thou shalt know the Lord.(Hosea 2:14-19)
I thought the tribulation would be 7 years (Daniel’s 70th week) and would start when the Antichrist was revealed and made a deal with Israel. He would break the agreement after 3-1/2 years with the “abomination of desolation”, the last 3-1/2 years being the “time of Jacob’s trouble”. Am I in error in this?
The Parable of the Ten Virgins (Matthew 25:1-13)

1 “At that time the kingdom of heaven will be like ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. 2 Five of them were foolish and five were wise. 3 The foolish ones took their lamps but did not take any oil with them. 4 The wise ones, however, took oil in jars along with their lamps. 5 The bridegroom was a long time in coming, and they all became drowsy and fell asleep.
6 “At midnight the cry rang out: ‘Here’s the bridegroom! Come out to meet him!’
7 “Then all the virgins woke up and trimmed their lamps. 8 The foolish ones said to the wise, ‘Give us some of your oil; our lamps are going out.’
9 “’No,’ they replied, ‘there may not be enough for both us and you. Instead, go to those who sell oil and buy some for yourselves.’
10 “But while they were on their way to buy the oil, the bridegroom arrived. The virgins who were ready went in with him to the wedding banquet. And the door was shut.
11 “Later the others also came. ‘Lord, Lord,’ they said, ‘open the door for us!’
12 “But he replied, ‘Truly I tell you, I don’t know you.’
13 “Therefore keep watch, because you do not know the day or the hour.
