Blessings to both of you.
Thank you for the giggles.
I read Ayn Rand’s Atlas Shrugged when I was 15 and have been an economic conservative since then. Christian conservative and social conservative came a few years later.
I have been wondering about the temple. Why all the pomegranates?
Pomegranates are a very ancient symbol of fertility, prosperity, and abundance. Of course, we are to plant the seed, and God gives the increase!
I was a late-comer to Ayn Rand, but once I started reading her books, i couldn’t put them down.
The book that really influenced me when I was a young teen was “1984”. I only read it once, over a half century ago, but I see it happening now right before my eyes!
(Rimonim are pomegranates)
Torah scrolls
On top of the 2 wooden rollers there may be RIMONIM - silver ornaments with BELLS, which were worn on the hem of the High Priest's robe to warn people of his approach. They are a reminder of the majesty of the TORAH & also represent pomegranates, one of the fruits of Israel. The noise of the bells tells everyone, even the blind, that the scrolls are in procession. Alternatively a silver CROWN (KETER) may decorate the rollers, as the TORAH is royal, the crown of Judaism

On a related note (because on the page the first and last words of the Torah are brought up):
The first word in the Torah is Bereshith and the last, Israel. There is much commentary (example here) on the first and last letters of the Torah symbolizing the heart (lev, spelled lamed bet), but taking it out a step from those first and last words...
The next letter after bereshith is a bet, and the letter before Israel is a lamed. So there are actually two hearts.
In Jewish tradition, pomegranates are a symbol of fertility and love, winning them frequent mention in, among other biblical texts, the Song of Songs.
