READ this excerpt of Pope Benedict's message read at Card. Meisner's funeral today. It is loaded with meaning:
With the anti-Pope knocking holes in the ship with his every proclamation it’s a wonder it’s stayed afloat this long. But the bigger question is why did Benedict abandon his post when he knew the progressives wolves would take his place?
My guess is the hippies in the Vatican made him an offer he couldn't refuse.
Nothing else makes sense to me.
Meanwhile......at the Vatican......
sounds like he agrees with us.
I don’t think the skeletons, if any, had anything to do with Benedict, but might possibly have had something to do with his predecessor - whom Benedict would have done anything to protect. And not necessarily the personal conduct of JPII, but the fact that JPII unaccountably protected a lot of very bad people, ranging from Maciel of the Legionaries to various odious bishops and cardinals. BXVI removed Maciel almost as soon as he became Pope, and the others - who were by then retirement age - were either encouraged to retire or marginalized (since there were no criminal charges against them). And he, BXVI, expelled hundreds of offender priests just in his first year.
But they were backed by a powerful mafia, and the fact that the SWIFT system suddenly excluded the Vatican (meaning it couldn’t perform any international transactions, such as transferring funds to charities, etc.) just before BXVI announced his resignation and then resumed as soon as he “resigned” indicates to me that there was massive power forcing his resignation. Soros?
Surely not about Francis. Ganswein is always telling us that Benedict is a big admirer of Francis. Ganswein wouldn’t lie, would he?
Interesting. Thanks for posting.
Also, I’ve read and heard speculation that Benedict could have been blackmailed by someone threatening to harm him.
More than that, I’ve wondered about the possibility of Benedict being threatened with harm to others - possibly many innocent others - not harm to himself.
