Cardinal Lacroix: "Pope Francis is a prophet. He is taking the Church where he has to be"

( Cameron Doody ) .- "Pope Francis is a prophet, he is bringing the Church where he has to be, he is purifying the Church." The Cardinal Archbishop of Quebec, Gérald Lacroix, bets so strongly on the figure of Pope Bergoglio. A man who is changing the Church "forever" , creating from it "a new world".

Speaking to America after the ad limina visit last month of the Canadian Bishops, Lacroix explained that the current Pope has put his pontificate firmly in the footsteps of Vatican II. The Council "did many jobs, changed many things, and now Francis is taking us to another level, " the cardinal said. "Continue with the work of the Council, not by changing structures and documents, but by taking you and me to a deeper relationship with the Lord."

If the Cardinal of Quebec had had any doubts about the renewal of Catholicism that the Argentine pontiff continues to carry out, he dissipated, he reveals, when he experienced during the ad limina the "beautiful" environment, "like the reception of a family", which Is breathed in the corridors of the bergogliana Curia.

"The ad limina is already a demonstration that the reform of the Church under Francisco is advancing," said Lacroix. For example, in the way in which almost all the meetings that the Canadian prelates had in the different dicasteries began with the officers asking them: " The Holy Father wants us to listen to you and your experiences . So why do not we start Over there?"

But it is not that the reforms of Pope Francis are just words, the cardinal said. "We are discerning together," he said. "We are listening to each other, in order to discover what the other is living in. Francisco is making it happen."

The process of "chip change" with Francisco towards a simpler Church and more interested in discernment has not been easy for some Catholics of the world, but Lacroix relies on the Argentine Pope , from the first moment he saw him leave Balcony of San Pedro and felt "deeply moved by its simplicity" .

He also relied on him during the meetings of the Synod of Bishops in 2015, when many hierarchs felt uncomfortable because of Pope Bergoglio's insistence on discernment, a process that Lacroix nevertheless loves. "I am very happy to see it spread today," says the cardinal of the theology of Francis. "It's really going to change a lot and forever to the Church. It's a new world . "

The cardinal of Quebec, therefore, feels "very in communion" with Pope Francis, especially at pastoral level, where he is "with him". "As pastors," ponders Lacroix, "we are called to love the world as Jesus did, and that is what Francis is doing ." So much is the admiration of the cardinal for Bergoglio, in fact, who awaits with great enthusiasm a possible apostolic visit to Canada, a country where "the people love him".

"We need it, people need to see this man," says Lacroix. "It is full of the joy of the Gospel, it is close to the people ... it touches the heart, it goes to the peripheries of life". But it is not only Catholics who are in love with Francis, recalls the archbishop. "I have met Baptist ministers who have told me, 'He is our Pope too because he lives the Gospel.'"

Hate?

Dang, you just spin whatever way you like there, boy, but don't pretend I said I "hate" the Pope. I acknowledge that the rot has spread as far as the Pope, that's all.

And yes, Protestantism is the root cause of the whole heretic fraud that passes for Christianity in the US. Just like Satan telling Eve, "surely you will not die the death", Protestantism preaches that you can say the magic words then lie, cheat, steal, and commit whatever sin you like to fit in with your pals but still, "you will not die the death". All of Protestantism has collapsed into nothing but following Eve rather than Christ.

That's the exact opposite of what drew people to Christianity in the first place which was, "see how they love one another" which is a far cry from never letting Scripture get between you and making a buck.

YOUR characterization of what I have to say is dust in the wind, bub, just more blather defending the indefensible.

Have a nice day.

The scum is coming out of the closet. If the next Pope is a Catholic, and, unlike JPII and BXVI, can take the heat, he will mow them all down. Bust hundreds of Cardinals and bishops to janitor and street sweeper.

Don’t look at me.

You guys are the ones who started bashing Protestants. Don’t start crying now that your safe space has been violated after you broke your own rules.

Can’t take what you dish out?

The Catholic Caucus designation has been removed as the article mentions belief systems other than Catholic.

They need to be able to respond.

As a former Baptists myself, there are many in the faith who are leftist apostates just like the Pope.

It'll be interesting to see if Bergie explicitly does something to Bishop Thomas Paprocki in Springfield for excommunicating all queers in his diocese who are in a same sex marriage (I've read all queers, but I'm not sure about that) telling all priests in the diocese to refuse any and all rited of the Church to queers, period.

Anybody still go to church in Quebec? Didn’t think so.

Another example of a formerly conservative, Catholic nationalism that became a leftist, Marxist nationalism (like the Celts and Basques).

…22Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?’ 23Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you workers of lawlessness.’
