Georg Gänswein: Benedict XVI Sees Francis as Someone Who Strengthens the Faith
Rome Reports ^ | 6/15/17

According to his personal secretary, Archbishop Georg Gänswein, Benedict XVI will remain in Rome during the hottest months of July and August, and is always in contact with Pope Francis.

MSGR. GEORG GÄNSWEIN
Benedict XVI's Secretary

"Pope Benedict sees in Pope Francis a man of his time, a true witness to the Lord, one who succeeds in building up the faith of people with courage, even at times with methods which can be considered less than traditional. Nevertheless, this is his style - and everyone has his own - this is the style of Pope Francis, which is much appreciated by Pope Benedict.”

Georg Gänswein is one of the few people who resides in the Vatican monastery with Benedict XVI. He maintains a daily routine which consists of prayer, studying and short walks.

So Benedict is in favor of Francis ignoring the dubia, is that right, Msgr? Is that what he calls "building up the faith"?

Is it Christianity we’re talking about or global warming, socialism, and Islam? Benedict was once booed by the Islamic world for quoting a Byzantine emperor. I don’t think Francis wants to run that risk, but truth should not be silenced at the expense of popularity.

Gänswein is a joke. He must really love his job. More than the truth.

I never doubted I would die a Roman Catholic until Pope Francis starting spewing his leftist ideology.

I suspect that his job is more Pope Benedict’s jailer than his secretary.

Pope Benedict XVI has done more to build my Christian faith in a positive way than Pope Francis. Pope Francis merely reinforces what I was taught growing up that are sins, and one must watch out for wayward shepards who like to preach ‘what was bad is now good’.

Liar. We know Benedict can’t stand him. Why pretend otherwise?

He lives in peace with himself, and above all, with the Lord. He is serene, and has not lost his sense of humor.

I'm surprised Benedict can have a good night's sleep, without realizing what he has done by renouncing his office as the Vicar of Christ.

Not to slander the Catholic church - but it seems the swamp is found not only in DC. And GOD has made swamp creatures of all types and sizes.

Lord, I miss Pope John Paul II, a man of GOD; a man of integrity.

Yes, I have a picture of him on my wall not far from a cross made from wood grown in Jerusalem. Both were gifts. Unfortunately as the end grows closer there will be less men with hearts truly after God.

"Pope Benedict sees in Pope Francis a man of his time

The Pope is not supposed to be a man of his time.

The Pope is supposed to be a man of God and a witness to the truth of his word which is the Bible.

Note that they are not even letting Benedict leave Rome in July and August. The poor man is definitely being held in prison.

As for this statement, it was made because BXVI was accused last month of trying to undermine Francis and “steal” the flock because he had written an afterword to Cardinal Sarah’s book. Francis’ minions were outraged, and one of them even said that BXVI should be locked up and silent.

This also follows Francis’ decree that all cardinals who live in Rome (which would be the Curia) must inform him of their whereabouts at all times, as well as their speaking plans, reasons for traveling, etc. Francis senses rebellion, however modest, in the ranks and he’s trying to stop it; Ganswein is simply acting as his henchman, or as you say, as Benedict’s jailer.

Benedict XVI is a fellow Modernist. I pray daily for his conversion to the Catholic Faith before he dies.

And Benedict subsequently apologized for his anti-Islam remarks.

Yes I recall. Muslims stormed a hospital and killed a nun who was treating other Muslims. So he apologized so that no more innocent people would be killed. Tough decision.

No, no tough decision. Truth is always the right decision.
