Francis: "It is difficult to work with this pope" [Catholic Caucus]

Pope Francis thanked Genoa Cardinal Angelo Bagnasco, the outgoing president of the Italian Bishops' Conference, for his ten years of service notably "for the patience he has had with me." He added: "It is not easy to work with this Pope." Francis spoke at the opening of the general assembly of the Italian Bishops in Rome. Talking to the bishops he encouraged them to speak without fear, "I am ready to hear opinions that are unpleasant to me."

In realty Francis has a long history of punishing or eliminating those who contradict or criticise him.

I wouldn’t tell this guy anything unpleasant I thought about him. You would have to be a complete and utter fool.

You could wind up dead, or removed from position if he didn’t like what you said.

He’s a tyrant, a communist, and hand picked by the devil.

In my opinion, of course.

Any Catholics here still believe he is "Christ's representative on earth"? This guy is evil. Pure evil.

As the Jesuit Provincial for Argentina, and as Archbishop of Buenos Aires, Bergoglio caused sharp divisions, and was known for exiling anyone who disagreed with him to the farthest corners of the country or the archdiocese. He surrounded himself with cronies who thought exactly like him.

In the Vatican, he has exiled everyone who is not a Communist and sodomite. Ricca, Paglia, Maradiaga, etc., etc. No one who holds different views is even allowed to converse with him. The only exceptions are people who can’t be shut out—heads of state like Trump.

I’m sure you’ve heard “The Lord works in mysterious ways”.

Cardinal Bagnasco was Ann Barnhardt’s preference for Pope in 2013.

Leftists always become coercive to defend their contrary-to-nature views.

I’m sure you’ve heard “The Lord works in mysterious ways”.

That exact phrase is not in the Bible. It's a misquote of the words of a hymn written by William Cowper in 1773.

Isaiah 55:6-11 says:

6 Turn to the Lord! He can still be found. Call out to God! He is near. 7 Give up your crooked ways and your evil thoughts. Return to the Lord our God. He will be merciful and forgive your sins. 8 The Lord says: “My thoughts and my ways are not like yours. 9 Just as the heavens are higher than the earth, my thoughts and my ways are higher than yours. 10 “Rain and snow fall from the sky. But they don’t return without watering the earth that produces seeds to plant and grain to eat. 11 That’s how it is with my words. They don’t return to me without doing everything I send them to do.”

The Bible also says this:

15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.

Matthew 7:15

---------------------------------------------------------------------

1 Now the Holy Spirit tells us clearly that in the last times some will turn away from the true faith; they will follow deceptive spirits and teachings that come from demons. 2 These people are hypocrites and liars, and their consciences are dead.

1 Timothy 4: 1-2

I didn’t say it was in the Bible.

Do you deny it’s true?

The Pope is called “the Vicar of Christ.” I don’t know when that particular title developed. It’s not important. He is the head of the college of bishops, and in that sense the successor of Peter.

It’s his office. It has nothing whatsoever to do with his virtue, intelligence, honesty, chastity, etc., or lack thereof.

There have been saintly popes and criminal popes. There is no reason for Catholics to change their beliefs about the papacy because of this or that rotten pope.

There is literally nothing that Bergoglio could do or say that has any bearing on what the Catholic Church teaches about the papacy.

Jesus is not a spirit!

If you think he is, you’re a heretic!

Jesus is a man!

If you think he’s not, you’re a heretic!

The Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us. The Word became man, and will be a man for all eternity.

I do not believe that popes are "vicars of Christ" nor are they "successors of Peter."

http://www.cuttingedge.org/news/n2042.cfm

Moreover, Jorge's description of Jesus as not spirit, but "only a man" is at best incomplete and misleading, and diabolically heretical at worst.

Was Christ the Word made flesh? Absolutely.

Is Christ now resurrected? Did He come from heaven as spirit? Is Christ equal to God? Is Christ in heaven now at the right hand of the Father? Is Jesus part of the Trinity? Didn't Christ die as a man, but become reborn by conquering death and sin?

Jorge's words (and I read them in context) are clearly meant to diminish the divinity of Christ, not to exalt him.

I believe that God's ways are far above our ways, and also that God can turn around evil for His good purposes (Genesis 50:20).

God also has used evil nations and evil men for His purpose, but that does not make evil in any sense "good" unto itself, nor does evil deserve any credit whatsoever for its role in evil.

Your statement implied (I believe) that Francis' wickedness and ungodly behavior can be justified because God can use it for good. True. God can do that. But that in no way justifies Jorge in what he is doing.

He is an impediment to God's holiness, not an ally.
