Thank You For Your Jewish People,
Who, in spite of Dispersion,
Persecutions,
Expulsions, and Torment,
have Blessed The World Time and Again,
With Their Literature,
Their Music,
Their Science,
Their Art,
The Holy Scriptures, And The Messiah,
Blessed is His Name!

3. Praise Him with the sound of the trumpet;
Praise Him with the lute and harp!
4. Praise Him with the timbrel and dance;
Praise Him with stringed instruments and flutes!

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

Christians of every language and denomination all over the world are singing in Hebrew today. The words for "Praise The LORD" in Hebrew is "Hallelujah" (or sometimes "Alleluia") and is a huge part of the prayers and music for Easter Sunday, or the Sunday that Christians observe to commemorate the Resurrection of Jesus from the Dead. The date is never the same as there is some ancient formula based upon the phases of the moon and the Jewish Passover that is used, and the Eastern part of Christianity does not always line up with the Western, and these don't always line up with Passover either, but the important thing is the Remembrance of the EVENT. (BTW, Passover has a lot of "Hallelujahs" in it too!) I enjoy it when the three dates match up, even if it is arbitrary, because the whole world sings "Hallelujah" at the same time.

Paul tells us that belief in the Resurrection is the true test of "What is a Christian", so those who call themselves "christians" because they think that Jesus was just a great teacher or fine philosopher, or that the Golden Rule is what makes them fit the bill. It might make them an educated, civilized, ethical, and nice person, but that's it.

So ends our wonderful study of the Psalms. May you have a Blessed day, and don't forget to vote on our next project. Here are the results so far:

The Messiah is a great teacher because he *is* the Law, the Golden Rule. He is the Law, the law of Love. The Torah of the Messiah is love. He is all the Torah - from bet to lamed - and everything in between, fulfilled in love as "bet lamed" (two lameds) is a heart.

A whole and complete heart: sincere, compassionate, kind, selfless, and overflowing with tender loving care, all day every day.

He can never violate the Sabbath because it's not work if it is love. The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath. He's the one who tells it what to do. Oh what be accomplished on the Sabbath without actually lifting a finger in 'work'. You just know he's busy 'working' all the time, healing people. Pretty much every day is a Sabbath for him then. :)

John 15:12-13 This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you. 13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

Who wouldn't be 'raised from the dead' if he could be loved and love back in return without limit. It's what animates and motivates humans. Of course, when people love and put their trust in money, possessions, or power, it's no relationship at all - it's dead - because none of those can love a person in return. In fact, all of those only keep people working and slaving away in order to earn their rewards.

If you check the occurrances of the verb ahav, to love, you'll see that the first appearance is of Abraham's love for Isaac when Abraham was told to sacrifice him. But there's a key pattern there:

On the verse list [at that link, toward the bottom of the page], notice who is the person discussed (who is doing the loving), and the count. The first eight, in order:

Abraham - 1
Isaac - 5
Jacob - 2

These are clearly set apart from the ninth, because in that verse is Leah stating that her husband will love her, yet in the verses immediately before and after, we are told that she is hated. Jacob didn't love her, but her Maker is 'her husband' (the one who loves her).

The point is, that this eight verse pattern actually spells out love, "ahav" (and the command form is ehav, same spelling):

אהב

1 = alef
5 = hei
2 = bet

alef hei bet = love

Talk about God paying loving attention to detail. His Messiah is just like that too, for all the love that he gives out. In this day and age, though, he might be thought of as a tad obsessive or of suspect motives, because who ever sees that?

The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob is not the God of the dead, but the God of the loving. :)

Wishing you a very blessed Easter.
