Any American citizen has a right to keep and bare arms, if some one is trying to kill you or me we are the only one who can prevent it.
Police that are beholden to the church elders. Catch one of their kids doing selling drugs on campus, it gets handled on campus not in the Sheriffs office. The had an embarassING drug bust at the school a couple years ago. Creating their own police force and jurisdiction can put the kibosh on outsiders exposing dirty laundry. I would imagine it would also help insulate them from other unsavory acts by keeping it within the church (rape, molestation etc.) JM2B.
Maybe God will let us use Guns to protect ourselves but i don`t think we should depend on this world alone for our security.
