Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

The Book of Psalms

Psalm 128

Psalm 128

A song of ascents.

1 Blessed are all who fear the Lord,
who walk in obedience to him.
2 You will eat the fruit of your labor;
blessings and prosperity will be yours.
3 Your wife will be like a fruitful vine
    within your house;
your children will be like olive shoots
    around your table.
4 Yes, this will be the blessing
for the man who fears the Lord.

5 May the Lord bless you from Zion;
may you see the prosperity of Jerusalem
all the days of your life.
6 May you live to see your children’s children—
    peace be on Israel.

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

Almighty, Eternal, Father,
Hallowed and Holy is Your Most Wonderful Name!
We Love You So Much,
With Our Whole Heart,
Our Whole Soul,
Our Whole Mind,
And Our Whole Strength!
You Alone Are Worthy To Receive Our Worship,
For You Alone Are the One True King Of The Universe,
The Ancient of Days,
The King of Glory!

1. Blessed is every one who fears the LORD, Who walks in His ways.

With Reverence and Awe we come before You,
Bowing down before You in Genuine Humility,
As You have been so Good to us,
And Your Loving Kindness is Everlasting!

2. When you eat the labor of your hands,
You shall be happy, and it shall be well with you.
3. Your wife shall be like a fruitful vine
In the very heart of your house,
Your children like olive plants
All around your table.
4. Behold, thus shall the man be blessed
Who fears the LORD.

Blessed is the man who fears You, LORD!
And Blessed is the Nation whose God is The LORD.
We Pray This Precious Song of Ascents,
both for Our own Nation,
And For Your People Israel,
That Our Families may be blessed,
That Our marriages will be Sanctified by You,
That Our Children with be raised in the Fear and
Admonition of the LORD,
And will be Like Olive Trees,
With Long and Fruitful Lives,
Providing Fuel, Light, Oil, Food, Shelter, and Shade.
That Our Children will Be Filled With Your Spirit,
Symbolized by Olive Oil,
all Through Your Word.

5. The LORD bless you out of Zion,
And may you see the good of Jerusalem
All the days of your life.
6. Yes, may you see your children’s children.

Peace be upon Israel!

And, According to Your Word,
And According To Your Promise,
We Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem.
We thank You For Israel,
For Your Word,
For Your beautiful Scriptures,
For The Wonderful Contributions of the Jewish People to Western Culture,
and For The Messiah.
May He Come Soon!

Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.

Hallelujah and Amen

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

My late husband was a "Computer Guy" and he worked in Customer Service. He was very good at what he did, and when his company "outsourced" his job to India, he would continue to get calls at his desk in a new department, from the Reps in India who needed his help. He was always gracious to them, but among the IT guys who had lost their jobs to outsourcing there was a rather bitter expression, "RTFM", which meant "Read The (expletive) Manual". Many people wanted their machines to work perfectly, but would not take a moment to "Read The Manual" to even plug it into the wall correctly!

God has graciously provided us with a "Manual" for life, called the Bible. However, there are many who refuse to look into it, and then complain that their lives aren't working right. They never thought to "plug in", yet they "call customer service" and expect the guy on the other end to fix everything magically and instantly.

The 15 Psalms of Ascent recognize this universal tendency of humans to act in this way. They take us, step by step, into the Presence of God, "Plugging us in" to the One True Source of Power and Glory in the Universe. The more we "Read The Manual", the Closer we get, the Wiser we Become, and the Deeper becomes our relationship with the Almighty. Then, our prayers are no longer panicky calls to "customer service", but become Communion With the Infinite.

Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.

God Bless America!

Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.

That's a really nice example about using the manuals.

God's manual is manuals within manuals, such that there's no end to the learning. The one who has actually mastered the manual *is* the manual - The Word - because he just does it that way, and shows everyone else (by example) how to properly use the manual and learn from it.

The funny thing is, no one defines a master carpenter by his ability to quote chapter and verse from carpentry "Bibles" or manuals... his work *is* the text. The books are an explanation of how to do what he does, but he may have learned from his father or trade school.

His mastery is evident by his works. He is the text.

Your point about people calling for services in a panic is great, because while much ignorance and confusion would be avoided if people read the manual, it highlights a human instinct that says, "it's sooo much easier to learn and understand when somebody personally and graciously walks me through the process, and patiently waits for me to catch on."

So there's that carpenter. Those woodworking books are perfectly true and useful and necessary and important, but when the master comes along to personally teach what's in there, showing by example how it's done...

Well there's just no comparison. An eager student will come to class attentive and prepared, though. It shows a love and respect for the teacher.

Blessed are all who fear the Lord,
who walk in obedience to him.
2 You will eat the fruit of your labor;
blessings and prosperity will be yours.

John 10:23-25

23 And Jesus walked in the temple in Solomon's porch.
24 Then came the Jews round about him, and said unto him, How long dost thou make us to doubt? If thou be the Christ, tell us plainly.
25 Jesus answered them, I told you, and ye believed not: the works that I do in my Father's name, they bear witness of me..

I put the porch in bold because 1 Chron 28-29 is a whole long list of the patterns David gave his son Solomon for the building of the Temple, the making of the instruments and utensils... starting with the porch. In chapter 29 David, after setting the patterns, showed by example how to "do it right" (with a whole heart). How to bring that blessing and prosperity.

Amen! God bless.

(as someone who has aversion to reading manuals, not only RTFM hit me on the face but it made me also ROTFL...)
