Pope Francis warned against the rising tide of populism in an interview with German paper Die Zeit this week, reigniting an ongoing search for subliminal criticism of President Trump in the pope’s words.
“Pope Francis issues veiled warning about Donald Trump,” proclaimed the headline on British news site the Independent about the interview, though Francis had not mentioned Trump.
His statement, however, that “populism is evil and ends badly as the past century showed,” marks at least the second time in recent months that the pope has warned against the dangers of growing populist movements in the U.S. as well as Europe. His latest words echo similar pontifications made during an interview with Spanish-language paper El Pais on the day of Trump’s inauguration.

What Pope Francis is actually saying is that representative government and free societies are evil.
Pope Francis admires the totalitarian governments in Venezuela and Cuba and the human suffering they cause. Pope Francis admires violent Jihadists.
Pope Francis hates faithful Catholics. He despises free societies and the individual freedom and prosperity they creates.
Pope Francis is not a man of God. He is evil.

That pretty much sums up what I was going to say about what does Pope Francis mean by “populism”? Anything that undermines the total, unquestioned power of the Communist Nomenklatura—which regrettably includes himself.
He isn’t criticizing Trump.
He is criticizing western civilization.
The pope-a-dope hates Trump, even if he has never said it clearly. He is a marxist who wants bearded muzzies to come in, rape the women, take our money, and install a theocratic dictatorship.
