Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

The Book of Psalms

Psalm 118

1Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good;
his love endures forever.

2Let Israel say:
“His love endures forever.”
3Let the house of Aaron say:
“His love endures forever.”
4Let those who fear the Lord say:
“His love endures forever.”

5When hard pressed, I cried to the Lord;
he brought me into a spacious place.
6The Lord is with me; I will not be afraid.
What can mere mortals do to me?
7The Lord is with me; he is my helper.
I look in triumph on my enemies.

8It is better to take refuge in the Lord
than to trust in humans.
9It is better to take refuge in the Lord
than to trust in princes.
10All the nations surrounded me,
but in the name of the Lord I cut them down.
11They surrounded me on every side,
but in the name of the Lord I cut them down.
12They swarmed around me like bees,
but they were consumed as quickly as burning thorns;
in the name of the Lord I cut them down.
13I was pushed back and about to fall,
but the Lord helped me.
14The Lord is my strength and my defense;
he has become my salvation.

15Shouts of joy and victory
resound in the tents of the righteous:
“The Lord’s right hand has done mighty things!
16The Lord’s right hand is lifted high;
the Lord’s right hand has done mighty things!”
17I will not die but live,
and will proclaim what the Lord has done.
18The Lord has chastened me severely,
but he has not given me over to death.
19Open for me the gates of the righteous;
I will enter and give thanks to the Lord.
20This is the gate of the Lord
through which the righteous may enter.
21I will give you thanks, for you answered me;
you have become my salvation.

22The stone the builders rejected
has become the cornerstone;
23the Lord has done this,
and it is marvelous in our eyes.
24The Lord has done it this very day;
let us rejoice today and be glad.

25 Lord, save us!
Lord, grant us success!

26Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.
From the house of the Lord we bless you.
27The Lord is God,
and he has made his light shine on us.
With boughs in hand, join in the festal procession
up to the horns of the altar.

28You are my God, and I will praise you;
you are my God, and I will exalt you.

29Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good;
his love endures forever.

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

In the epic miniseries "Masada" The Leader Eleazar (Played by Peter Strauss) has nearly exhausted his options in defending his people from the Roman Siege. Though not a religious man, he goes into the small synagogue on the mountain to pray. In a very moving scene, he has a spiritual epiphany while reciting Psalm 118. I remember watching it, so many years ago, as if it were yesterday.

Psalm 118 is the last Psalm in both the Hallel and our virtual Menorah of Praise. It is prophetic, Messianic, and an song of Praise and Thanksgiving all rolled into one. Many people quote this Psalm without even realizing it.

Tomorrow we embark on an epic journey together, the longest chapter in the entire Bible and the exact center of it if one uses both the Old and New Testaments. It is an amazing Acrostic, based upon the Hebrew Alphabet. Fear not...we we only tackle it one letter at a time! I have managed to find an old study of this Psalm from seven years ago, complete with my own attempts at Acrostics, and my own Illustrations based upon the Hebrew letters. Always remember...you can find anything on the Internet, even your own stuff that you thought was lost forever! (A Warning! LOL!)

Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.

God Bless America!

Heavenly Father,
Use the friendship of Bibi and our President to bring a time of peace for Jerusalem.
Use this time to spread the good news that Israel’s Messiah is returning soon to the East Gate.
Your kingdom is at HAND. Praise Your Holy Name.

To: left that other site; amorphous; Mr. M.J.B.
Many people quote this Psalm (118) without even realizing it.

Tomorrow we embark on an epic journey together, the longest chapter in the entire Bible and
the exact center of it if ...

Thanks so much for connecting the two Psalms with that wording!!! You can really appreciate the music theory contained within these Psalms.

There's a little detail in 118.22 that connects heaven and earth and the imagery of Jacob's ladder... the place of meeting between heaven and earth (gate of God, Beth El) like the "stone the builders refused" being the head of the corner, the chief cornerstone... the roof apex, the gable..

Angles, angels:

Angels (letters create angels - words and other letter strings, because angels = messengers), ascending and descending on the ladder, which is a musical scale (sulam).

Psalm 119 is as you alluded, composed of 176 verses, each letter beginning a string of eight verses, thus 8 x 22 = 176, which is also 88 x 2. Love the double visual puns here, as 822 = 411 (information) doubled, and 882 is 441 (truth) doubled. But I digress.

The detail:

22. The stone which the builders rejected has become the head of the corner (pinah):

Corner (פנה) = 135

The context is the top of a building (it could also be the base cornerstone, but it being the first and last [cornerstone] is another track).

Its corner = 135, just what it says.

That's a 5:12 roof pitch, with a roof slope (hypotenuse) length of 13.

22.5 deg is half of 45, for a gable of 135 (22.5 + 22.5 + 135 = 180), but 5/12 is actually 22.62 deg. For that very slight difference, though, 5/12 is the standard roof pitch.

However if you run true with ratio for a 22.5 deg angle, the rise/run is TAN 22.5 deg = .414. Thus, 414/1000, which is 207/500.

Can be worked back out to solve out for the hypotenuse, rounded to a whole number is 541 (Israel).

207-500-541

Or

5-12-13

On a very basic level, these numbers have significant well-known symbolisms and also amazing relationships to each other (e.g. 13 + 13 = YHVH), which represent mathematically the imagery of this roof/tent. It goes on and on and on, well beyond the obvious gematrias. You just have to draw a diagram and run the numbers. 13 = echad (one), ahavah (love), my father (avi), etc. Too much to write.

Perimeters - 1248 is the full letter (milui) value of l'rosh pinah (for the head of the corner)
Differences - 541 - 13 = 528 = mafteach (key); 500 - 12 = 488 = patach (doorway, the root of the word key); 207 - 5 = 202 = rav, bar (teacher, son)

Light (207, ohr; also ein sof, infinity) runs down the back/support/spine [of a book] (גב gev = 5) through the stone the builders refused. Ohr Mashiach (Messianic light).

1 Kings 8.17. And it was in the heart of David my father (202) to build a house for the name of the Lord God of Israel:

"The" ladder, ha-sulam (הסלם)= 135...

Beth El ("house of God"), the gate of heaven was called Luz at first. Jacon even poured oil on the top (head) of it: "shemen al roshah". People do the weirest things in the Bible, but the first letters of that phrase (Gen 28.18)spell sha'ar (שער), "gate". No detail is ever too strange or out of place in there. Therefore, nothing I post is too bizarre. Not even close.

Luz is Spanish for light, from Latin lux, lucis.

The Luz bone is C7, on the top of the spinal column.

Angels (formed from letters, because they are messengers with messages - words from God) ascending and descending (in that order):

The seventh octave is the highest octave of a piano. Using middle C (C4) as a guide, the next higher C is C5 or tenor C. The next C is C6 or soprano high C. The next C, C7 or double high C, is again one octave higher. C7 is eight steps away from the last note on the 88-key piano: C8. C7 is also the highest note on most other keyboard instruments. The seventh octave is the range of notes between C7 and C8. It is easier for very high coloratura sopranos to sing in this octave, but some people who are capable of singing in the bass range (like singers Adam Lopez or Nicola Sedda) can do it. While notes in the sixth octave, between soprano high C and C7, can have enough color to sound flutey or canary-like, the squeaky, whistly tones in the seventh octave help give the whistle register its name, as do the piercing qualities of notes in this octave.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seventh_octave

7 on to 8:

“The number seven symbolizes the complete purpose of human existence, combining the spiritual level of the Sabbath with the physical effort of the week. Going beyond seven, the number eight symbolizes man’s ability to transcend the limitations of physical existence. Thus, with a gematria of eight, [ח]  stands for that which is on a plane above nature, i.e., the metaphysical Divine. The study of the Torah and the practice of its commandments are the ways by which Israel can strive to exalt human spirituality towards the realm above the natural (Maharalz).”

http://www.betemunah.org/eight.html

Nachmanides (12th century Spain) explains a beautiful kabbalistic concept: Seven is the number of the natural world. There are 7 days in the week, 7 notes on the musical scale and 7 directions (left, right, up, down, forward, back and center). “Seven” - represented by the 7 days of Sukkot, is the world of nature. “Eight“, represented by Shemini Atzeret, is that which is beyond nature.

http://www.betemunah.org/seven.html

In music theory, a scale is any set of musical notes ordered by fundamental frequency or pitch. A scale ordered by increasing pitch is an ascending scale, and a scale ordered by decreasing pitch is a descending scale. Some scales contain different pitches when ascending than when descending. For example, the Melodic minor scale. Ascending and descending chromatic scale About this sound Play

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scale_(music)

5 relating to 12, [roof] pitch:

In music theory, the circle of fifths (or circle of fourths) is the relationship among the 12 tones of the chromatic scale, their corresponding key signatures, and the associated major and minor keys. More specifically, it is a geometrical representation of relationships among the 12 pitch classes of the chromatic scale in pitch class space.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Circle_of_fifths

Ascending and descending on the keyboard: 88 + 88 = 176, 119 follows Psalm 118. The first 11 first letters for the first 88 verses run from alef to kaf:

88. In your loving kindness spare my life; so I shall keep the testimony of your mouth:

The last letter of vere 88 is a kaf sofit. Kaf sofit = 500

89. For ever, O Lord, your word is fixed in heaven:

Forever, O Lord = 202

The difference between 5 and 12 is 7. To scale that to the larger triangle, it's the difference between 207 and 500, which is 293.

293 = mizmor (Psalm)

Light 207 + Psalm 293 (which means a song composed for string instruments) = 500 = Phi, the Greek letter that represents the Golden ratio.

Right triangles

Starting with 5, every second Fibonacci number is the length of the hypotenuse of a right triangle with integer sides, or in other words, the largest number in a Pythagorean triple. The length of the longer leg of this triangle is equal to the sum of the three sides of the preceding triangle in this series of triangles, and the shorter leg is equal to the difference between the preceding bypassed Fibonacci number and the shorter leg of the preceding triangle.

The first triangle in this series has sides of length 5, 4, and 3. Skipping 8, the next triangle has sides of length 13, 12 (5 + 4 + 3), and 5 (8 - 3).

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fibonacci_number#Right_triangles

F1-F8:

1-1-2-3-5-8-13-21

1 + 1 + 2 + 3 = 7
7 + 5 = 12

Moshiach = 358 (משיח), which permutes to (שמי ח) shemi 8, "my name is 8" (8, the letter chet)

The ideal man, the embodiment of the Torah (Golden Rule) - the stone the builders [of human establishments] reject - connects heaven and earth, like music. The primary author of the Psalms, and the one who coordinated so many details about the Temple - the services, the utensils, the musical instruments - was David. Base of the house diagram = 24 = David spelled with the yud.

The first man to walk on the earth was Adam (אדם) = 45, or 22.5. x 2
The first man to walk on the moon was Neil (ניל) = 90

Together the names permute to "ideal man", and there's always more in the Hebrew.

45 + 90 = 135

A corner is a turning point. From Latin cornu, horn. In the space of time (a 24 hour day), the earth rotates at 15 deg/hr. 135 deg is 9 hours. Lots of interesting things happened at the "ninth hour", the 135 degree mark.

Acts 10:3 He saw in a vision evidently about the ninth hour of the day an angel of God coming in to him, and saying unto him, Cornelius.

And then there was Peter (petros, stone), who in that same narrative, saw heaven opened, with stuff dropping down at the sixth hour, which is the 90 degree mark. Makes perfect sense, looking from the 90 degree angle straight up toward the roof apex. Peter had "seen the light" with regards to Cornelius, so to speak.

"Look up!"

That's pretty funny, because in the [heavenly] circle with the cornerstone as the center, the lower angle (projecting toward earth) is 135 deg. The upper angle (projecting toward heaven) is therefore 225 deg. Which is to say, "toward the north" (צפנה) or "the north" (הצפן), = 225.

Psalm 118 is full of "keys" (the spoken word), kaf-yud (כי) which is 30 (= 5 + 12 + 13). The first verse is the same as the last.

...ki tov, ki l'olam chasdo (for he is good; for his loving kindness is forever) (verses 1 and 29, = 30)

Verses 2, 3, and 4 instruct three groups to say the "key": ki (key) l'olam chadso, "for his loving-kindness is forever"

Seven "keys". Golden Rule (loving kindness forever). See above for that center point of Psalm 119 (verses 88 and 89). They represent the top of the keyboard. C (see) 8. There you will find the message: Loving-kindness. Forever.

The merge of the verses (last letter of v.88 and first of v. 89) is kaf-lamed. = 50.

"The Fifty Gates of Understanding are the “keys” to rising above mundane reality in order to transcend it, to live as a Tzelem-Elokim — in the image of God."

http://www.neveh.org/winston/purim/purim01.html

Is it too much to mention that the frequency of note C8 is 4186 Hz, which is the sum of the numbers 1 thru 91? 91 is amen, angel, and sukkah. Well I checked how many word strings in the Tanakh have a total of 4186, and the frequency is... 135. Go figure.

Jacob saw angels running up and down the ladder. What *were* they doing? Playing! It's the simple meaning. :)

(Ducking...)

It's all... orchestrated. ;)

I forgot to include that at the merger of the verses 88 and 89 in Ps 119 (which is loving-kindness forever), the letters kaf + lamed spell kol, all.
