The cathedral, one of St. Petersburg's top tourist destinations, was seized by the state after the 1917 Bolshevik Revolution and became a museum. The city announced last month that it would be returned to church control.

You know, you have “Trump, Trump, Trump” as a tagline. Meanwhile, his administration doesn’t trust your boy Putin one bit. Even Trump is getting a better understanding of the Russia situation, saying recently that he’s “learned a lot in the past few weeks”. Sounds to me like he’s been getting schooled by his wise administration picks. People like Pence, Haly, Sessions, etc. Although he has spoken out harshly against your hero in the past. For example, in 2014, when your pals went into Crimea, he said, “Putin has been eating Obama’s lunch, therefore OUR (American’s) lunch, for a long time.

Sure the Neo-Cons in the Trump administration are still advocate for world war 3 with Russia and Trump's using them to play a game of good cop, bad cop in order to split Russia from Iran and China. I hope Trump succeeds. China is the biggest threat to the US outside the American left and a Russian/US alliance would be ideal in the long run.

On the other hand I certainty admire Putin for both undercutting progressivism in Russia and restoring the church to the center of Russian civilization whatever his motives for it. Trump is running a similar campaign to restore Western churches to their rightful place in politics and in culture in America.

Step by step Russia is returning to traditionalism while the progressive west is hanging itself with endless virtue signalling by importing 3ed world invaders and destroying the family while sating the population with sex, drugs, and social media.

ETL, you may hate Putin but from my perspective he's a pretty typical Russian strongman who's decided that the way to save Russia is by restoring the Russian church and by resisting Western liberalism. In my book that makes him more useful ideological ally than liberals and globalist like McCain, Ryan, and the dems. Our big conflict is with the American left that seeks the destruction of us all.

Sounds like Russia has adopted Pre-Post-Catholic-Christian Continental Europe’s concept that “Error has no Right”.

Err, a bit more like they tried 80 years of atheism, and 15 years of progressivism and decided that traditionalism was superior. That’s empirical trial and error in my book.

But tradtionalism being the most effective system shouldn’t be suprising considering that it had a 3,000 years of recorded history of success while things like socialism, multiculturalism, athism, ect only popup in empires and nations in decline.

2 Good. Next up, Hagia Sophia.

On July 1, 2016, Turkish president Erdogan ordered that Muslim prayers were to be held again in the Hagia Sophia for the first time in 85 years.[

I really wish the coup had succeeded, but failure is what you get with Obama in charge.

Something tells me Bolshevism was a top down imposition. The common people of Russia, “the forgotten man”, never lost their Christian Faith. As an old Belgian Benedictine monk used to say, “God is always the winner.”

It is adherence to the Gospel that makes great civilization. It is adherence to the Gospel that breaks the chains of slavery.

Poland just elected Jesus Christ to be King of their country. Hungary might have done the same. Germany is showing her Arian roots. Islam is showing us what it means to sacrifice to false gods. The battle lines are drawing for who stands for Truth and who stands for all the man made hydras of falsehood that make life on this Earth a living hell.
