That concept of Mary is what elevated women in Christian cultures—unlike islam where polygamy and misogyny and homosexualism (sexism) and pederasty, incest and pedophilia is “normal”. And like all the non-Christians in Africa and Asia cultures.
That was an intentional Catholic ploy to promote motherhood and the Natural family of one man/one woman (God’s Design) which is fundamental to ALL cultures and flourishing and emotionally healthy (non-warped) children so they become rational, virtuous adults. With virtue (only) there can be freedom and free will/individualism.
Don’t knock the wisdom of Catholic Theology, and the total importance of a mother in the heath and humanity of mankind. Children are incapable of being human without a loving mother in the first 7 years of life.
(I will admit, the Catholics have overdone it on Mary and should scale it back a bit.....but the perversion push in the Catholic Church is much worse than the distortion of Mary’s importance, now. That is the least of their heresies.
