Encouraging him to retire falls short of the mark and would equate with a cowardly response. Encouraging him to retire would perpetuate legitimacy of his papacy. These men need to declare him a heretic and a false pope and depose him officially.

Of course it isn’t, Francis, so why does it look like you’re trying to kneel during an anthem?

Drivel. Poppycock. Squid-like ink of bafflegab. Heresy.

He can emit these reams of yakkity-yak, and can’t answer five yes-or-no questions.

We certainly hope so. Popes are still humans, with many flaws, obvious ones in this case.

“The Church Is Not a Football Team in Search of Fans”

This is clearly true but the problem is that Francis is certainly in search of fans. Especially among politicians and the Church's enemies. He loves public adulation. The Church should preach the Gospel with all its currently unpopular parts, especially in the area of sexual morality but Francis won't go down that road. He talks of "accompaniment", instead.

How many times has he thrown his fellow clergy and Catholic laity under the bus in search of worldly applause?

Pope Francis is mistaken if he thinks he is following in the "footsteps" of the Council (Vat II). He's repudiating the Council documents and all of his venerable predecessors.

That's the problem.

With respect to ecumenism he’s not mistaken. You need to learn what the Vatican II Council and his predecessors teach on the topic of ecumenism. Then get back to us.

Get back to "Us?"

As I understand it, I have been previously requested NOT to get back to you.

Really now...as if you care...then why did you post to “all”?

As a courtesy. So as not to post to “you”.

As requested.

So, in reality, you were responding to my post (given the topic of your post) but instead of being obvious you posted to “All”...as if that’s not posting to me. ;-)

In the mean time, this has done a nice job of avoiding the real issue here: Francis has very much been following in the footsteps of Vatican II wrt his ecumenism. Wrt Vatican II’s false ecumenism he is no different than his predecessors. Anyone who believes otherwise is fooling themselves.

Oh, for goodness' sake. If I post to you I'm in the wrong; if I don't post to you, I'm in the wrong.

Have a *nicer* day.
