An anecdote: my dear mother was NeverTrump when we talked politics at a family event in August (note: she is an active pro-lifer, a very traditional, conservative Christian, and had been for Cruz all the way). Bottom line: she couldn’t stand Trump and would not vote for him.

We talked again two days ago - she now is solidly supporting Trump.

It never occurred to me before, but ...

"You don't ask women if you can run your hand up her leg. I think if you did, she would dump you so fast your head would spin."

is a most profound statement to a man.

I have run my hand up Many many a leg without interference because I knew, at the time, we were in one accord.

I've never asked for a kiss or permission.

The ONLY thing I have EVER asked for from a girl (when I was a boy) or a woman ... was for her phone number.

THAT'S where you get your ultimate answer.

IF hillary would be President, with bringing in the millions of muslims she plans on bringing in .. how long would it be before isis would be rounding up Christians and beheading your Christian kids and Christian grandkids right here in the United States. How long before hillary rounded them up for isis.

We’re talking ‘evil’ here.. for that is what hillary is.

We have never had a Franklin Graham type for President, why do Christians expect one this time?

We’ve been studying Genesis and the story of the Patriarchs. I encourage people to read about them. Today we read about Jacob. If we were allowed to vote for who God would name Israel, it probably wouldn’t be him.

I have an acquaintance who is strongly involved in the pro-Life movement. He’s by far a single issue voter.

I told him that the primaries are the time for electoral purity, but during the general election, we are down to a binary choice.

In his case, Stein and Johnson are as pro-abortion as Clinton, Trump has never been a strong pro-life guy but he’s definitely saying the right things. he’s approaching it from an economic perspective.

I believe that there are many ways to get the pro-life message across. Personally, I’m disappointed in those that make it into a religious thing. I’m not catholic and am uncomfortable with and very opposed to most catholic doctrines. When I attend pro-Life events, I feel that all the catholic religious images and pictures of Mary are detrimental to the cause of life and also serve to keep protestants and evangelicals away.

It’s so easy for Christians to go the way of the scribes and Pharisees. Holier than thou.

Not voting for a candidate because they think he doesn’t meet their standard.

It’s probably not actually believing Christians who will have the most trouble with Donald. It’s the folks who want someone to condemn.

In the Catholic meme set, Mary is considered the ultimate mercy, while she’s an irrelevant figure to others.

Artistic symbolism of the sacred heart of Jesus would be better understood across denominational boundaries.

Evangelicals don’t really identify with that imagery either. What would be better is to leave all of the religious imagery out of it and concentrate on the life of the baby, health of the mother, both physical and emotional, cost to society, obscene profits to Planned Parenthood and the “doctors”, dirty facilities, entire populations decimated, racist history and current racism in abortion facilities, science etc.

If it’s not tied to the love of God, all this other stuff is just effluvia, so much mind numbing yack.

You mean evangelicals that aren’t even evangelicals, in other words.

No, evangelicals that don’t subscribe to catholic dogma.

When you are trying to reach non-religious people, using religious arguments aren’t all that effective.

Showing women that their baby is actually a human being works. Using science to prove that life begins at conception works. Opening a women’s care center with a sonogram technician on staff, counselors and post natal care works.

Walking down the street reciting the rosary and holding up a statue reaches the already reached catholics but turns off evangelicals and protestants and most importantly turns off those you are trying to reach the most.

Lutherans use it and few others are puzzled.

What’s this strawman about rosaries and statues?

You don’t realize that when the foundations are destroyed, the righteous can do nothing.

“It’s a human being” can be met with “But how could I let this human being suffer for decades when it could die almost instantly.” That is the inevitable result of pulling God out of the picture.

..." she now is solidly supporting Trump."....

This should be the normal "evolution" of the election. Last time out, evangelicals nixed Romney because he was a Mormon. So we got the Muslim. ....Makes sense to them I guess.

I have lots of problems with Mormonism, but we aren't picking the church we go to. I'm sure most of us could agree with the moral stances Mormons take on abortion, sodomy, freedom of religion, ect. I don't think Romney's big issue was to get everyone to drink milk or wear special underwear. The filter American Christians put people through would filter out most of their own family members, let alone a fellow believer.

I’m just posting my impressions. Whenever I go to pro-life events like March for Life, I wonder just how effective all the religious imagery is.

As a former Catholic and current evangelical, I truly never understood the veneration of Mary and I lived in that world for 18 years.

If I didn’t buy it as a catholic, what makes anyone think that it has any way of being effective when trying to reach a liberal, pro-abortion person?

..."We’re talking ‘evil’ here"...

I agree. People need to stop thinking about what he said and look at what SHE will do. Just take ONE promise she makes and assume congress stops everything else.

Wide open borders! America will be finished in a couple of years.

Tax hike! The economy will crash back to below 2008 levels. Gun control! I have to watch what I type here, but let's just say America WON"T accept that without force.

Foreign policy. Let's just say I haven't seen any in 8 years.

To withhold a vote for Trump for bad language is beyond stupid.
