Are you serious? Pope St. Pius V called for a universal rosary crusade for victory in the Battle of Lepanto and as result Our Lady worked a miracle. This month of October is dedicated to the Holy Rosary but Francis hasn't made one mention of it.
“Are you serious?”
Yes.
“Pope St. Pius V called for a universal rosary crusade for victory in the Battle of Lepanto and as result Our Lady worked a miracle. This month of October is dedicated to the Holy Rosary but Francis hasn’t made one mention of it.”
That was a very different situation in a very different time. Let’s say Pope Francis calls for a Rosary Crusade tomorrow. To what effect? Who in Europe would even do it? What would the goal be? How would that not cause an all out war when one has not yet begun? This would not be about a battle in far off eastern Mediterranean waters, but in Rome itself, in Paris, in Berlin (mostly Protestant city), in Malmo (which is Protestant by the way where it isn’t Muslim). It’s not 1571 anymore...or hadn’t you noticed?
I don’t deny the Holy Spirit could do something miraculous, but that is probably far down the road yet.
“Pope St. Pius V called for a universal rosary crusade for victory in the Battle of Lepanto and as result Our Lady worked a miracle. This month of October is dedicated to the Holy Rosary but Francis hasn’t made one mention of it.”
So true.
The Catholic church as a long and noble tradition of fighting to protect and defend our way of life.
The Battle of Lepanto and the Battle of Vienna are just two examples. The Muslims were defeated and western civilization was allowed to flourish.
Sadly, our current Pope rejects this tradition.
