Archbishop Cupich: dialogue with Muslims more important than ever
Catholic World News ^ | September 22, 2016

There is an “urgent need to cultivate positive dialogue” with Muslims, Archbishop Blase Cupich of Chicago said in a statement.

The prelate, who serves as co-chairman of the National Catholic-Muslim Dialogue, stated:

The report "Danger & Dialogue: American Catholic Public Opinion and Portrayals of Islam," recently published by the Bridge Initiative, a research project on Islamophobia based in Georgetown University's Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal Center for Muslim - Christian Understanding, raises serious questions about how Catholics view their Muslim brothers and sisters.

“When there is no attempt to learn more about one another, we see an increase in the tendency to be negative about those who are different from ourselves,” he added. “This diminishes all of us, as we face increasing incidents of religious intolerance across the globe.”

Acknowledging that “no one should dismiss the real threats that some Muslims who embrace a radical ideology, such as the members of the Islamic State, present to people of all faiths,” Archbishop Cupich said that it is “incumbent upon Catholics to recognize and raise up the positive voices from the Muslim world who clearly reject violence by practicing and teaching an Islam of peace, compassion and mercy.”

I suggest that, for historical reasons, this dialog take place in Munich. Call it the “Peace For Our Time” dialog.

Dialogue means both sides talk and listen. Dialogue with that group is not going to be easy, since they want only to promote their viewpoint.

Hmmm. Seems the Dominican nuns specifically taught us to get along with people by respecting their right to freedom of religion. There was not a lot of learning how they thought. We just got along.

Do what they want us to do.....Force them to be Christians right then or brutalize/kill them....just kidding.

Religious freedom is something they will never understand and the sooner the high office folks understand this the better off we will be. Infidel is 98% of Americans and they are told to kill us or convert us-two choices. Talking never has worked so why try and change history?

I bet that if he has a car, he has one of those co-exist bumper stickers on it.

‘... an Islam of peace, compassion and mercy’?

The Archbishop should know better, no such thing exists!

Those blue *coexist* stickers are a factory-installed option if buying a Toyota Prius.
Most of the people who buy that car tend to take that free offer. They also have a program for aged Clinton / Gore decals.

Dialog with Muslims is impossible. We’re infidels, end of story.

An other example of a naive Christian that I fear will be our undoing.

The inability of naive Christians to face up to the fact that fundamental Islam as promulgated in the Koran and following the examples of Muhammad in the Hadiths, and the Caliphs following Muhammad which wants all Muslims to dominate all the world for Allah and convert or kill all non-Muslims (Kafirs, Infidels) who won't submit to Islam or pay protection money (Jizya)

To name just a few who IMHO that follow Islam correctly are : ISIS , Bin Laden, AlQaeda, Qtub, Wahabb, Tayimaya, Muhammed, Caliph Abu Bakr, Caliph Umar, Caliph Uthman, Caliph Ali and presently Caliph Abu Bakhr al Bagdadi, I believe have the correct interpretation of Islam, and are doing what Allah want done to us non-believers.

IMHO any Muslim who thinks Islam is a religion of Peace, and that they should get along with us Kafirs is a flat out heretic, or an apostate.
And that includes Al Sisi in Egypt and King Abdullah in Jordan who are friends of this country and oppose fundamental Islam.
WE need these Muslim heretics on our side in this religious war.

Muslims who want to kill us are not radical or extremists they are fundamental Muslims doing what Allah and Muhammad want done.

Remember it is not what you and I believe, the problem is what fundamental Muslims believe, and Christian feel good naiveness and wishful thinking just prolongs facing up to this real fatal Islamic threat.-Tom

By all means, let us resume the dialog with the godless savages whose so-called "holy book" commands them to KILL US ALL!

Gosh, we all know islam is the religion of peace. Or is that “pieces” as in BODY PARTS? I get sooo confused. Glad the Pope is around to keep me straight.

Ah, “dialogue.” The liberals’ answer for everything. Have a dialogue with Muslims. Have a dialogue with BLM so they don’t riot. I remember these dopes saying we needed to have a dialogue with Saddam to prevent the war, and then going over to Iraq illegally to have this “dialogue.” Of course, they got turned into human shields by Saddam. And any this bishop would end up with his throat slit if he went into ISIS-held territory to have a dialogue with the Muslims who are killing us, or even some Muslim ghetto in Europe.

56 countries Islamics have already invaded and taken over
plus now they’re turning much of Europe, UK, USA, Canada, and Australia into new Krapistans

The problem is, the ONLY thing those savages understand is brute force!

Blase Cupich is NOT naive. Only a papal idiot like Bergoglio would make the idiot Cupich Archbishop of Chicago. Like Bergoglio, Cupich is an enemy of the Catholic Faith. Cupich is 67 years old. The sooner he dies, resigns, is fired by a young and actually Catholic pope, or is required to resign by reaching the age of 75, the better for Chicago and the Church.

So it is "incumbent upon Catholics" to lie about Islam?

Cupich is just another useful idiot financed by Saudi oil potentates pushing a fake, rose-tinted version of the ROP .
