Social liberals of various intensities are found frequently in evangelical academia, including SBC colleges and seminaries, but the SBC itself is not controlled by them. Fortunately the SBC is not structured that way. If anything, the pulpit and the pew have been getting more conservative overall during the last 30 years or so.
