Before the final restoration of Israel, which will be as the resurrection from the dead for the whole world, Israel must face her final conflict and experience her final and complete deliverance.Ezekiel saw a coalition, led by a man with the title of “Gog†of the land of Magog.
There is admittedly much controversy over where Magog is, but the table of nations in Genesis 10 is invaluable.
The sons of Japheth; Gomer, and Magog, and Madai, and Javan, and Tubal, and Meshech, and Tiras. And the sons of Gomer; Ashkenaz, and Riphath, and Togarmah.(Gen 10:2-3)
Magog was the second son of Japheth, and the agreed upon land of Magog, is the central Asian,Turkic speaking area .Josephus said, “Magog founded the Magogians, called Scythians by the Greeks. Scythians were a nomadic tribe who inhabited the ancient territory from Central Asia across the southern part of ancient Russia.â€
Today these which were former Soviet republics south of the black Sea, in the Caucusus range. These are the so-called “Stansâ€, all of which are Muslim, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan.
Gog, the individual who is the “chief Prince†of the Coalition, hails from the “Uttermost Parts of the Northâ€, (see Ezekiel 39:2). Due North of Israel, at the uttermost parts, is Russia.
Meshek and Tubal are in Turkey, as is Gomer, and the house of Togarmah. All of these are sons of Japheth, and are currently overwhelmingly Muslim. Turkey had suppressed Islamism for decades under the post World War 1 Attaturk model of separation of Mosque from State, but has been increasingly revealed as being severely Islamized, since the election pot Rycep Erdogan.
The other members of the coalition are Persia, ( Iran), Ethiopia, (Cush)(not the same as modern Ethiopia) , South of Egypt, (Sudan), (parts of Somalia).and Put, ( Libya and parts of North Africa),and “Many others who will be with youâ€.
It is fascinating to see this coalition beginning to form in our day. Russia is currently fighting in Syria alongside of Iran, and Hezbullah, the Shiite militia. The Russians have sought to shore up a Shiite crescent, from Syria, through Iran, arming both nations with advanced anti-aircraft batteries, and the latest in tank, aircraft and missile technology.
God addresses Gog and says unto Him,

I have heard that the best rendering of the Hebrew could just as well beâ€Be thou an Armorer unto themâ€. Russia has taken the role of the armorer and protector of the Shiite World, in the face of the Wests primary sponsorship of the Sunni Saudis and gulf states.
God himself will “turn†Gog around and “put a hook †in his jaw to pull him into this battle.
We have recently seen the spectacle of the voluntary surrender of the US?Western Hegemony in the Arab world, as Vladimir Putin told the US to “get out of the way†and allow Russian power and might (Supposedly to deal with ISIS), and to protect Bashir Assad from the Sunni militia’s equipped and trained by the west.
A huge Russian equipped military federation is being formed, the Turkic peoples of the Caucusus Mountains, will be joined with Turkey itself, (which is Sunni, but is an aspirant to head the Caliphate as opposed to ISIS or the Saudis),Iran,Libya,possibly Tunis and Alegeria, Sudan, parts of Somalia,and a host of other fellow travelers.
They resent the West, the Saudis and The United States in particular, but they sense also that any loyalty the West once had towards Israel, (the only democracy in the Middle East, and a place where even Arab Muslims are accorded full rights) ,has evaporated completely. There is plunder to be taken in Israel, (vast newly discovered fields of natural gas and oil), and the times seem ripe to come and seize it.

This is why you shouldn’t spend tons of time in the Old Testament. The New is where to spend the serious efforts. The Old is history, and we have a New Covenant now.

The OT is the foundation of the NT - the entire OT points to Jesus - without the OT you cannot fully understand the NT.

Its pure bullshine to read that earlier verse he posted, and think you can clearly understand the course of events in the Middle East today.
Someone 75 or 150, or 1000 years ago could have read it and seen it through the lens of their own times.
The old really isn’t all that useful except as background, but most of it is set on its head by the teachings of Christ.

However, Gog and Magog are really spiritual influences.
When GOD says that He’s going to put a hook in their jaw, it could possibly be Isaiah 17:1 - “Woe to Damascus; it has been taken away from being a city, it has become a ruinous heap.” Because of the close proximity of Damascus to the border of Israel; I have to consider that many Israeli’s will be killed or injured.
So, after the attack upon Damascus (the hook in the jaw), Israel will retaliate (which they usually do), causing the nations influenced by Gog and Magog (Russia, China, Arab nations) will gather together to take Israel out once and for all time. But .. what Gog and Magog don’t know is that they are going to be met in the Valley of Megiddo, by the armies of GOD, where they will be destroyed.
When that was prophesied by Ezekiel, there was no timetable attached. GOD just wanted the world to know that GOD was not going to allow Israel to be destroyed.
When the war is over and there is nothing left on the battlefield but metal and wood (which will sustain Israel for quite some time), there is one added event which will take place. THE FINAL HARVEST of people who will receive Christ. The reason this will be so remarkable is that it will be seen on TV around the world. At that point, people will be running to any building with the word “church” on it and asking them if they KNOW THAT GOD ..?? This revival will be like nothing we have ever seen.
While some refuse to believe it’s coming very close to happening; I’ve been sensing it for some time.
People will scoff and laugh at their own peril. But, GOD’s desire is that none should perish, but that all should come to the saving Grace of Jesus.
There are many prophecies in the Old Testament which apply to the New Testament. If you read Ezekiel 37-39 (in the Amplified Bible which is easier to read and understand), you can see all of the things which I just described.
Don’t be so ready to pooh-pooh the Old Testament scriptures until you’ve studied them out for yourself.
Jesus will be on the side of those WHO HAVE ALREADY CHOSEN HIM.

I have felt for a while now too, that there will be a great revival or awakening. I pray for it all the time as well.
