It’s a narrative so familiar by now that we can all recite the script. As Sarah Thyre laid it out Thursday: “1. Jail 2. Book deal/Fox News guest 3. jillion dollar @gofundme page w/donations from fellow bigots.” And with the developments this week in the case of Kim Davis, who was indeed jailed not for being a Christian but being in contempt of court, many presumed that this was the jackpot the $80,000-a-year-earning Kentucky county clerk was headed toward. But not so fast, partner.
As US News reported Thursday, “ACLU attorney Heather Weaver, who is working on the case, said there was testimony about fundraising efforts on Davis’ behalf, apparently a factor in the judge’s decision not to impose financial penalties.” And DailyKos noted that “Plaintiffs in the case had asked [District Court Judge David] Bunning to fine Davis, but they specifically requested that he not jail her. Bunning, though, said fines would not work because others might raise money to pay the penalty on her behalf.”

I’ve been seeing this meme repeat all day. Al Capone was never convicted of any of his gangster crimes either. The government convicts on whatever it can make stick. They can’t jail us for being a Christian (yet) so they use a court order that we won’t obey and then get us for contempt.
Now if we can just get a court order for sanctuary cities to follow the law that the Progs suddenly love to obey so much.

Gofundme has a history of shutting down conservative fundraisers, refer to cake bakers and I think there was another fundraiser that was in the news that got axed. They have a huge section dedicated to LGBT causes. Why do conservatives keep using it then acting surprised when they get shut down?
That’s right; conservatives need to set up a whole shadow media & economy (after first conceding that everything else is in the hands of the enemy).
Yes gofundme will shut them down but continuetogive.com will allow them to start a fund for sure. I said on a post a few days that is who the Christian bakers in Washington had to use and they now have over 400k. I wish Kim Davis’ family would go to continuetogive.com and get this going so I can donate.
Why stop at jailing. Why not have her drawn and quartered for good measure.

If you are enough of a Christian, and stand with this lady, why the heck would you use a ‘fundme’, when she has a CHURCH that might know of her?
You could send your funds through Paypal, to that church, and THEY will have to account for the management of those funds, as well as being accountable, if i read the sacred texts right, to each and every ‘brother and sister’ that sent money for this specific purpose.

it is semantics and they know it. its a distinction without a difference. the judge clearly said eff you to her religious objction. thats the why the judge said she was in contempt.
She makes $80,000 a year? Is this true? That’s a pretty good salary for a County Clerk in the south. No wonder she doesn’t want to quit her job.
I believe she is getting legal representation for free. If she is a salaried employee is she still receiving pay while she is in jail? I don’t know.
