Los Angeles (CNN)—Catholics in the nation's largest archdiocese will hold a special prayer this weekend about immigrants at a time when Donald Trump has put the issue on center stage.

Specifically, their prayers will counter anti-immigration views as the Los Angeles archdiocese holds a special cathedral Mass to affirm the humanity and plight of immigrants.

The annual service was planned before the presidential candidate made incendiary remarks about illegal immigration, and the Mass in recognition of immigrants won't address Trump's remarks.

Still, the service comes as Archbishop José H. Gómez of Los Angeles took exception with Trump, who described Mexicans illegally entering the United States as "killers" and "rapists."

The cleric asserted that immigrants are human beings in search of a better life....

Nice of the Catholic Church to be undermning our national soveriegnty and the rule of law and using purposely misleading leftist talking points to do it.

I am not anti-immigrant.

I am totally anti-illegal alien.

There os a world of difference and the leftists using these propaganda techniques know it.

The Catholic Church of LA is sinking down to the passive aggressive guilt tactics that the left always use. These people deserve no respect. They have been too close to the Democrats for too long and the nasty, deceitfulness has rubbed off on them. This underhanded tactic is truly worthy of the father of lies and we all know who he is.

The Catholic Church is really Pissing me off. Born Catholic and I plan to die Catholic, but if they keep this crap up I’m going to have to follow through on starting my own Church.

It will be called The Church of Whatever Floats Your Boat.

Do they have a Fence that I can throw my Saint Christopher Medal over like Kerry did at the White House with those borrowed Military Medals?

"and as a pastor in the Catholic Church, I don't participate actively in political dialogues. That's not my role. But obviously, if he did say those types of attacks against people and the dignity of the immigrants, it's not right."

This clown doesn't even know what Trump really said and he passes judgment based on hearsay...Talk about an agenda...

Pray for WHAT? More welfare for them? More DUIs, rapes and murders of Americans? What do these fags in robes want for their beloved invaders?

Folks, his Excellency Archbishop Gomez was born in Mexico. That was considered a point in his favor when he made the Terna for head of the Los Angeles diocese. Of course, things would be just the same under Cardinal Mahony, his predecessor.

Protesters Question Archbishop’s Loyalty To US
Protest LA Archbishop Jose Gomez Residence

Dozens of protesters have shown up at Archbishop of Los Angelus Jose Gomez residence. Many carrying American flags and bearing signs questioning Gomez’s loyalty to the US not Mexico along with many signs demanding equal rights for American citizens in Mexico.

The protest was apparently triggered by the clerics decision to push forward with his predecessors decision the disgraced Cardinal Mahoney by offering amnesty thus citizenship to Mexicans who crossed the border illegally. While thousands of Americans in Mexico suffer under 2nd class citizenship unable to own property and suffer indignitys let alone participate in Mexican elections while living there in Mexico.

A spokeswoman for the group, Harriet Hildegarden insisted her group consists of Catholics loyal to the church. “We will be protesting at other locations where prominent clergy of the church have sided with the Obama regime”. “Hildy” claims the church is supporting the democrat party which denied God at their convention and declared what she claims is war on the Catholics but would collude with it on “social engineering” issues including “amnesty” . When asked if she may be denied communion for her activities her reply was “Well it’s been known that when that happens quicker when clerics get personally attacked than when some politican challanges the church on the grounds of faith and morals”.
