Jerusalem as A Heavy Stone In The Road...pt 2

In a previous article , “A Cup of Trembling” , I pointed out the amazing prediction of Zechariah 12:1-2 . In the last days, Jerusalem would become a point of international contention, ultimately drawing the whole world into the strife.

In continuance of this theme, I would like to give a brief exposition of the rest of this chapter of scripture.

“And it shall happen in that day that I will make Jerusalem a very heavy stone for all peoples;all who would heave it away will surely be cut to pieces, though all nations of the earth be gathered against it.” ( Zechariah 12:3)

God says that it is He that will make Jerusalem to be a stone that “the nations of the earth” would presume to pick up and carry away, however they would find to their detriment that it s too heavy for them to do so, and the ones who try are literally ‘Lacerated’ for their failed efforts.

The idea is that in some way, “all of the nations of the earth” are walking down a road, progressing towards a common goal. At some point they come to an obstruction in the road, a heavy stone sits in the way of progress. As I stated in the last article, only the existence of the UN would allow us to really say that “all of the nations of the earth” are in any kind of common walk.

The road is the path towards some kind of globalist “world order”. It is post national, post christian, the possible fulfillment of the utopian ideals of millions over the centuries. The day is almost here,it is right around the corner,”Peace on earth and goodwill towards men” , (of course without God). But there is one stubborn trouble spot, the middle east! How are we going to solve the quarrel between Jacob and Esau?

It doesn’t matter who, every one of the “Kings of the earth and their rulers” who have tried to solve the problem of the so-called status of Jerusalem have failed to their own hurt. The sun set the British Empire because of it.

Uncle Sam says, “I’ll take care of it”, and rolls up his sleeves and squats to lift the stone, but cannot move it, and has severe cuts on his arms to show for his efforts. Every American President since Eisenhower has tried and failed to solve the Jerusalem problem. None of them would dare move the US Embassy to it, out of deference to the Muslims, although most of them promised to when running for office.

In the first year of his administration, President Obama made an unprecedented appeal to the Muslim world, and that from Cairo, Egypt. *He made clear in the speech His sympathy with Muslims, and his desire for the so-called “two State” solution.

Obama personally has condemned the Netanyahu Government for authorising the building of housing in East Jerusalem. His administration, as well as the UN , the EU and Russia believe that East Jerusalem should be reserved as the capital of the Palestinian state.

Ominously, one of Obama’s national security advisors, John Brennon recently refered to Jerusalem as “Al Quds” in a speech to an Arab american student group.”Al Quds” is the name given to Jerusalem by Islamists who want to deny the Jewish history of the city, insisting that it has always been Jewish.

This pandering to Islamic terrorists by a representative of the world’s lone super power is an example of just how heavy the stone is and how desperate the world is to move it.

Zechariah’s prophecy comes closer to realisation as the “Status” of Jerusalem is argued about and maneuvered for by the movers and shakers of the World. I just dread the “lacerations that are sure to follow. Maranatha Lord Jesus!

Postscript- the above article was written in 2010, but here is a current (2015) article which confirms the thesis.

The "last days" again, eh? Would that be the same "last days" you've talked about before?...

It is always the last days, since we all die.

More error being taught by this "pastor". God have pity on the flock being led into the woods to be devoured by this "shepherd".

You've already shown that you'll concoct even the silliest of arguments to defend your false teaching and evade the truth of God's Word. Why do you defy the Scriptures and cling to your erroneous notions, and still call yourself "Pastor"?

Paul warned the Ephesian church's pastors to watch out for people like you:

"Therefore take heed to yourselves and to all the flock, among which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the church of God which He purchased with His own blood. For I know this, that after my departure savage wolves will come in among you, not sparing the flock. Also from among yourselves men will rise up, speaking perverse things, to draw away the disciples after themselves."

Shame on you.

Wow, you sound like Mikey Weinstein! Do you have a problem with Christian Pastors preparing their flocks for turbulent times?

I'm not familiar with Mikey Weinstein, but I gather your comparison was not a complimentary one.

No, I have no problem with Christian pastors watching over their flocks. As I pointed out, the Lord has a problem with pastors devouring the flock "which He purchased with His own blood."

Don't you?

And that's where your false teaching has been exposed as well. Your response has often been an offer to "agree to disagree". But the Lord doesn't allow accepting such offers.

Who is devouring who? Pastor Randles is preparing the flock for the last days. You are “devouring” him for no apparent reason.?.? What is your theological problem with what he is saying in the article?

What's the problem? The problem is telling people that God hasn't really done the things He has done. How can we fall on our knees in appreciative awe and praise the Lord when we deny the marvelous and mighty works He has accomplished?

Look, for instance, at this article by the same author. He uses II Tim. 3 - where Paul instructs Timothy to avoid certain people - to tell us these people are just now arriving!

Do you think Paul would tell Timothy to "turn away" from people who weren't going to show up for 2000 years?? Well neither do I. Clearly the "last days" of 2 Tim. 3 happened within Timothy's lifetime. Any other explanation makes calls Paul a nut and the Holy Spirit a liar.

(When the author was confronted with his error, he spouted this nonsense: "It is always the last days, since we all die." Can you believe that?)

It's the same with his twisting of Zech. 12. If there was any remaining confusion - after reading it - as to what Zechariah's prophecy was about, John 19:37 clears things up.

Isn't God due our praise for all the mighty works He has accomplished? But who can offer Him that praise when some false teacher has convinced us that He hasn't even done them?

The Bible record of His great promises and prophecies, and of their fulfillment, gives us solid ground for our hope. To deny the fulfillment of those promises and prophecies is to undermine our hope. What would you call someone who undermines our hope by teaching that God hasn't done what He has done?

I'm not bold or foolish enough to argue against Jehovah of Hosts, and I don't think you are either. But some are. Frankly, I tremble at the thought.
