White Friars: Carmelites

Grey Friars: Friars Minor (Franciscans - OFM)

Black Friars: Dominicans

So many places in Britain are named for them - you've got Greyfriars Bobby the little terrier in Edinburgh, and Richard III was hastily buried in the Greyfriars Priory in Leicester, the Whitefriars in Coventry, and on and on . . .

Henry VIII has a lot to answer for.
