Oh, how fabulous it would be to attend a Bible Study by Monsignor Pope.

6 hours on the cross before expiring, and Pilot is surprised He is dead ‘already’! What a foul thing to do to another human being.
Thank You Jesus, once and forever!
To: GreyFriar
Thanks for the ping. Appropriate to remember these events day-by-day this week.

It wasn’t unusual for people to last days on a cross. Christ, however, had been terribly beaten before hand.

I don't like Holy Saturday- it's a lonely day. Until the evening the Blessed Sacrament isn't residing in the Tabernacle. It's a scary feeling; it reminds me of Daniel where the Daily Sacrifice was ended. Until the Vigil, it seems like such a long, lonely day. Imagine Our Lady with Her Son in the tomb, the tomb sealed, and not having Him alive... After all that happened during and after His Passion d and death. The Apostles so frightened and confused...

The one confort I do take on Holy Saturday, among those who are Polish or Eastern European is that the Easter food baskets are blessed on that day. Other then for that, it is supposed to be a quiet day of reflection.
