If you don't take their money or participate in programs with students who take their money, you don't have to obey their tyranny.

The Federal Government never gives you anything that doesn't cost you in some other manner, whether by rules, regulations or just subservience (freedom) and a vote.

In Robert Heinlein's, "The Moon is a Harsh Mistress," he explained the tenet very well -- TINSTAAFL (some use TANSTAAFL now).

There Is No Such Thing As A Free Lunch.

Not taking federal money lets you opt out of some of their tyranny, not all of it.

And even that's only for now.
