Don’t those people have souls? Who are you to judge who is worthy of salvation?

As a Catholic I may have to pray for the Pope out of charity, but is there any precept that says I have to like him?

“is the pope catholic? no longer holds”.
I have thought the same thing but you have expressed it better than I could. Thank you.

“I don’t have a great relationship with religion. I oscillate between agnosticism and atheism.”

Why waste the Pope’s time?

I have to change my profile to say that I’m now officially sedevacantist, no holds barred.

But it is kind of on the fence as many of us consider Benedict to be our pope still.

Maybe big fan Elton John

He is too busy hanging with Rush Limbaugh to worry about the Pope. Talk about strange “bed fellows”.

Does Francis know what the job of pope is?

I’ve never seen a Pope more starved for attention and publicity. That’s the whole reason for this “meeting”.

Pope Francis is a very interesting fellow to me. In some respects, I think of the following verse when I hear of stories like this:

“And as he reclined at table in his house, many tax collectors and sinners were reclining with Jesus and his disciples, for there were many who followed him. And the scribes of the Pharisees, when they saw that he was eating with sinners and tax collectors, said to his disciples, “Why does he eatb with tax collectors and sinners?” And when Jesus heard it, he said to them, “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. I came not to call the righteous, but sinners.”

But, let’s not miss out on that last sentence. Jesus said he comes to CALL SINNERS. That’s what the popular secular media cannot possibly understand about the Christian faith; it is a faith of calling out of sin and into the grace of our Lord. The world’s understanding of Jesus is that He is a good guy to hang out with, to get words of affirmation from, but don’t you dare offer me any healing.

Sorry, I’m too dumb to realize that 20 minutes with the Pope will bring Brad Pitt to Christ. You must be one of those “tolerant” Christians I hear so much about. Yes, by all means let’s drive the non-Christians off Free Republic!
