The Flood Out Of The Dragon's Mouth...Rev 12 pt 10

When And when the dragon saw that he was cast unto the earth, he persecuted the woman which brought forth the man child. And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent. And the serpent cast out of his mouth water as a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away of the flood. And the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed up the flood which the dragon cast out of his mouth. And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.(Revelation 12:13-18)

What have we seen in this vision so far? We have seen the completion of Genesis 3. The woman in the garden has become a very pregnant Israel, the “daughter of Zion” and wife of Jehovah. She writhes in the agony of labor for to her was granted a great task, to be the receptacle of the Word of God and of the MEssiah.

The serpent in the garden has become a Dragon, with all worldly power; political, military, economic, media, put to his disposal.His identity is revealed in the same vision. He is “The serpent of old”,the fallen Angel who deceived our first parents, and brought about the fall of man and the ruin of the first creation.

And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.(Revelation 12:9)

He is also described as “the Devil”, a compound word Dia and Bolos- Dia meaning “to divide”” and bolos meaning “to throw”. He throws lies and innuendo out to divide people. He divided Adam and Eve from God.

The Dragon is also referred to as “Satan”, the adversary, for he brought constant charges against God”s people before the bar of Divine justice, like a prosecuting attorney.THus he is referred to as “The accuser of our bretheren”.

Finally he is described in the vision as, the one that “deceives the whole world”. The entire world, except for the seed of the woman, are entrapped in the various lies of this arch liar.

The ultimate lie is that man can make it on his own without the God of the Bible, but for everyone on earth there are variations of the lie.Whether it be re-incarnation,(you shall not surely die), or the lie of Islam,or of evolution,or the apparitions of the virgin Mary, or Aliens, they all amount to some kind of deification of man and proclaim that humankind s advancing towards a godless Utopia.

However, the “seed of the woman” is born in spite of the dragon’s opposition. He is the man-child, destined to rule the world with a rod of iron, and to crush the serpent’s head.The serpent couldn’t dissuade him or stop Him. After the man-child did His saving work, crushing the serpent, at the cost of great personal pain, He ascended to Heaven!

Now the serpent is wroth with the woman and the remnant of her seed. The woman flees to the wilderness, but the serpent belches out of his mouth a flood, to destroy the woman.

What is the nature of that flood? There may be much more to it, but I already think I have an answer to that question, and that we are seeing this flood play our currently.

That’s right, with all of the world’s Media at his disposal, The Serpent is pouring out floods of propaganda, turning the world’s opinion against Israel, implying things which are not true, and repeating the big lies over and over again, no matter how outrageous and far-fetched they are. Here is just a recent sampling of headlines coming out, slanted against Israel;

*“Israeli Police Shoot Man in East Jerusalem”, was the headline of an AP story after a terrorist rammed a car into a crowd in Jerusalem, killing a baby and wounding 8 people waiting for train station.

*When two Palestinian Terrorists carried out a murderous attack on a Synagogue in Jerusalem, in November,2014, killing four Jews and injuring six others,

CBC news reported “Jerusalem Police Fatally Shoot Two After Apparent Synagogue Attack”

The BBC reported the same incident with this headline“Jerusalem Synagogue Attack Kills Four Israelis” The story reports, “At least four Israeli’s have been killed and seven injured in what police say was a “terrorist attack” at a Jerusalem Synagogue”

When CNN reported on it, one was left to wonder who was the attacker? “Four Israeli’s,Two Palestinians Killed in Synagogue Attack,Israeli Police Say”

What we are constantly seeing, not just in News Reporting but in sermons, political speeches, street protests, University courses, theatrical dramas, tweets, blogs, television, Radio, and a host of other forms of media, is a steady stream of slanted, biased words, designed to change people’s opinions about Israel, and to elicit sympathy for Israel’s enemies.

Joseph Goebbels, Adolph Hitler’s propaganda chief would have loved to have had the sophisticated social media, internet, tweet and other forms of modern communication.He is the one who gave us the adage, tell a lie often enough and people will begin to repeat it and accept it as common wisdom.

The Serpent is pouring out Words calculated to incite; accusing Israel as an Apartheid state(Preposterous), or that Israel has committed “War crimes” and that the Palestinians are an oppressed people.Comparisons are made between Israel and Nazi Germany, and the Palestinians and Joseph and Mary, Israel as Goliath and Palestinian terrorists as David.

Words are powerful, they work. Through well-chosen words, the serpent is deceiving the whole world.

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem and for Israel, that they might see the Messiah whom (we) they have pierced!

I think a good chapter to read in parallel with this section of Revelation is Jeremiah 30’s description of the “Time of Jacob’s Trouble”, since it corresponds with the fulfillment of God’s plan for the woman.

There are also some parallel themes between the chapters, like the symbolism of “labor pains”, which I think serve to underline the connection:

“And she being with child cried, travailing in birth, and pained to be delivered.” Rev. 12:2

“Ask ye now, and see whether a man doth travail with child? wherefore do I see every man with his hands on his loins, as a woman in travail, and all faces are turned into paleness?” Jer. 30:6

The remnant depicted as “seed” is another shared theme:

“And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.” Rev. 12:17

“Therefore fear thou not, O my servant Jacob, saith the Lord; neither be dismayed, O Israel: for, lo, I will save thee from afar, and thy seed from the land of their captivity; and Jacob shall return, and shall be in rest, and be quiet, and none shall make him afraid.” Jer. 30:10

An enemy attempting to “devour” is another shared theme:

“And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born.” Rev. 12:4

“Therefore all they that devour thee shall be devoured; and all thine adversaries, every one of them, shall go into captivity; and they that spoil thee shall be a spoil, and all that prey upon thee will I give for a prey.” Jer. 30:16

I also think there is an interesting parallel in this chapter of Jeremiah with another part of Revelation, as God prophecies of the allies of a city/nation as “lovers”, in Jeremiah, speaking of Israel, and in Revelation, speaking of the Harlot:

“All thy lovers have forgotten thee; they seek thee not; for I have wounded thee with the wound of an enemy, with the chastisement of a cruel one, for the multitude of thine iniquity; because thy sins were increased.” Jer. 30:14

“For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies.” Rev. 18:3

“9 And the kings of the earth, who have committed fornication and lived deliciously with her, shall bewail her, and lament for her, when they shall see the smoke of her burning,” Rev. 18:9

Great post, the thing that amazes me is just how strong the veil is over the eyes of those who side with Ishmael’s seed. They have been trying to kill Israel every since and have not succeeded nor will they succeed as God’s Promise to Abraham and the Love for the Patriarchs still stands. Muzzies mistreat Christian, Non Muzzies, and Women in unbelievable ways, but you can only hear cricket’s from all the groups that claim to care to include feminist groups, absolutely amazing. There is only one reason that makes any sense as most see them as peace loving innocent people, Satin and his Minions (The Flood). So yes I think you are right on target.
