Seriously, not allowing my own words to bog you down. Be free in Christ -- for we can have faith there regardless, come what may.

But you may owe it to yourself to investigate further...

Even then, even if one were to come to some place of seeing the same things which I have (and I have spent countless hours on this issue, also -- though not read that book which I mentioned -- not knowing if it has even been translated into English, and having forgotten the name of the bishop and the book too -- but recalling that there is a copy in a nearby college library) even if the image be much as I have provided some thumbnail sketch of description towards how it came about (myself not needing repeat and reanalyze the original writings concerning it -- those are well covered grounds,for now) that absolutely would not equate with all of that which flows from or through the RCC is also incorrect -- even -- fraudulent.

Unlike Hillary, at the time of her saying what she did, I was aware of the history of the artifact/object.

And I am also aware of her silly (and somewhat ignorant) comment.

Yet it is interesting, for despite all the claims otherwise, one can not so simply dismiss the facts I briefly touched as "revisionism".

There is nothing revisionist about mentioning the change of custody due to objections raised by a Franciscan priest (who expressed concern the object was becoming an idol -- being prayed to as if the object itself held powers, or that priest having something to that effect) which resulted in the painting being taken from under his own custody and care -- passed over to another religious order.

Nor is it revisionist to mention the bishop of Mexico City who was ex-communicated.

Nor is it revisionist to mention the other historical aspect which I did, including the statue in Spain, and the similarities to other fairly common to that era imagery.

Those are all facts.

And those are but scratching the surface of the facts -- which many (far from the pages of FR, your own comments to me here not included in this regard) do seem to want to control all the information --- and not have facts which could call into question and/or refute (and put 'em all together -- make powerful case for the image be pious fraud, but mistaken as for it's true origins nonetheless) be seen or talked about --- if it can be prevented.

The fall-out that could serve towards RCC credibility -- would be significant --- and it would likely enough raise enough ruckus some people would become violent, even end up killing one another over it...

While you are at that -- show me how and/or why anything I have said is "false".

Meanwhile...I do not believe I'm all that interested in a can'-o'-spam-o links which you tell me to read do a little learning".

I've likely enough seen most of it already.

I already know what I know otherwise, which taken altogether, is enough to indicate to me -- that all of which I have said concerning this issue, is accurate enough, although I will confess that the re-painting and "white paste" substance said to be beneath the present image, which was a common enough treatment for cloths being used for art canvas, in the era in which it was -- can be difficult to find info for.

But it is far too late to undo any of that which I have said, with such as you offer, I do believe.
