I just stumbled on to this one that I found really interesting:

Anti-Israel Restaurant Receives Funding from John Kerry’s Wife

The statements on the wrappers were taken from interviews with Palestinian Arabs, noted the Free Beacon. They are published without quotation marks and do not appear to be edited for accuracy.

Another section of the wrapper refers to the creation of Israel as “an intentional and ongoing offensive.” It also alleges that Israel deliberately blocks Palestinian Arabs from obtaining drinking water, opposes non-Jews from becoming citizens, and has assassinated or imprisoned all of the non-corrupt Palestinian leaders.

According to the wrapper, Conflict Kitchen is supported in part by the Heinz Endowment, which is chaired by Kerry’s wife, Teresa Heinz Kerry.

A spokesman for the Heinz Endowment told the Washington Free Beacon that it gave Conflict Kitchen a $50,000 grant last April to support its relocation to another site in Pittsburgh.

They claim to be. Has there been some sort of formal condemnation/disaffiliation carried out by Rome?

Conservative Catholics will claim their official, written doctrine opposes this. However that claim is meaningless. Jesus said we’d know a tree by its fruit.

I am among the millions of Catholics who have never given to CCHD, and never will. Aside from the numerous “scandals,” the very premise of the organization is wrong.

Official, written doctrine doesn't oppose CCHD by name; nor does it oppose political activism and community organizing, per se, the modus operandi of this organization.

But it is wrong for it to be supported by a big clerical bureaucracy. Its interlocking features with the hierarchical structure is abusive and illgitimate.

Not ony the CCHD, but the USCCB itself and its predecessor organizatons all the way back to the National Catholic War Council (WWI era) are a problem. And that problem boils down to this: coordination with with the American "progressive" political class.

It's as bad as the altar-and-throne alliance of pre-WWI Europe. IMHO.
