Ping!
I’d hope the Vatican would not agree to this.
Well, that might end the government forced schism in China.
The Chinese Patriotic Association has been sending all of its seminarians to the US for seminarian training. While in the US the seminarians have been trained correctly as to the truth of the the Faith. In the most recent ordination all of the seminarians refused in unison to the point where I believe the ordination could not take place. So, the Chinese government has been forced to work with the Vatican. This is actually a very hopeful sign.
In China excommunication of the leaders is not an option.
If I were the guys from Rome, I’d go “Fine. While we’re at it, how’s about we get a veto on the PRC and CPC’s senior appointments?” And then both sides can have a good cleansing laugh, and the Chicoms can back off and let the Church does what it does in every civilized country in the world.
