And here you are wrong. Even without Communion you are participating in the one sacrifice of the Cross made present. Neither Mary nor John received Communion at the foot of the Cross yet their love for Jesus united them with him. Many of the saints throughout the ages have valued the Mass without having received Communion each time they went. As for divorced and homosexuals, their placing their own self-love over the the love of God separates them from Him despite the reception of Communion.
They can go if they are divorced, it’s only if they remarried. Homosexuals can go if they do not fornicate. Those are the rules. They have always been the rules. Not everyone can be a victim.
Am not Catholic, but my thought regarding taking communion is that to take part in it we must confess our sins and turn from them. In this respect, I don’t think anyone should be denied communion, but to go forward with no intention to repent is to make a mockery of it.
